started watching, got teary at the start with Steve reading his misfits add, had to stop, I'm at work, can't have customers see me like this..

ahh man..

Very Nice

The fact that they posted it is very nice. I think it re-assures me that Apple isn't a typical corporation who only makes moves for their own benefit.

It's a good sign for the future that Apple is still kind of "our" company, too.

Your sense of entitlement makes you utterly ugly.

Have a nice day.

I'm sorry that I have morals and believe I am worthy of an apology. People went on, post after post, insisting that I was dishonoring a man I admire by wanting to watch this event. Well, forgive me for having a moment of response to that when hearing the news it's been released. I am seeking an apology not just for myself, but for everyone who was called names in that thread because they wished to view this event. If I am "entitled" for standing up for myself after having been the target of public vitriol for hours on the other thread, so be it. Just finished viewing the ceremony and it was great. I believe it was just what was needed for closure and Apple has done the right thing by giving us the honor to view it.

Wonderfully moving gathering!

Coldplays songs that I recognised were: Yellow and Viva la Vida.

I have Safari (just so that i could watch this) Quicktime, and it's still not working? Any Canadians having problems with the video? That's my only real guess, unless it's because i'm running windows.

The whole thing was good, but hearing Jony Ive just reinforced my belief that he should do the keynotes from here on out. His enthusiasm and charisma is overwhelming.

Amazing editing work during Jony Ive speaking at 54:30....
The eyes of Steve Jobs in the iconic "lotus Macintosh" photo fade out into the opening eyes of Jony ... The "soul" of Apple lives on .... Excellent tribute by Apple and am glad they shared it with the rest of the world. Any analyst that believes Apple is doomed without Steve should watch this video.

In the video, you can see the camera fly over the crowd. I would see fuzzed out faces in the crowd. Maybe 10 out of the 2000?

I downloaded the TIFF from Apple's PR website (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/10/19October-19-Employee-Celebration-of-Steve-Jobs-Life.html), and didn't notice any intentional fuzzing.

Maybe the photo was taken with a crappy cellphone camera?

John Ive should do the keynotes now instead of the boring Tim. Our Scott. I didn't see him in the crowd. Who were the people next to Steve's wife?

The Jonathan Ive speech was the very best part. So powerful, passionate, humorous, and touching. There's nobody that embodies Steve's spirit more than Ive. And it's clear from watching him that he did indeed lose a soulmate in Steve. I would utterly love it If Jonathan Ive introduced the next iProduct. He has that gravitas, drama, and charisma that noone else I've seen from Apple shares on stage.

Couldn't agree more, he is definitely the most captivating speaker. The most steve-like.

Oh please, the video is another marketing tool. Only people with apple products can view it.

Tell me how it's not for apple's own benefit?

You can feed this link to QuickTime® Player on your Macs (or PCs or whatever):

Highest-quality stream URL from the event

(Edit: Ugh - do you really need to convert links to "api.viglink.com" click-throughts, Mac Rumors?!? Here is the actual link content - http:// + qthttp.apple.com.edgesuite.net/11ajdjnvkjnd10weoihf23ohfoihqw/2540/prog_index.m3u8 - if you want to copy & paste. Just remove the " + ".)

It comes in 486 separate .ts files. I'm mux'ing them right now on my Mac Pro to cook up a DVD or a Blu-ray image, or at the very least 1 giant 1.5 GB .ts file that's easy to play on a Networked Media Tank-type device.

As for the event itself, Al Gore is a fantastic public speaker, no matter what you think of his politics. Jonny Ive was humorous and insightful. The Siri demo the Board Meeting was funny. (Coldplay are still insufferable, however.)

When you have a copy can you upload it somewhere and let us know? I'd like to have a copy and I honestly do not have the time right now to compile it all together

Even topics like this get trolls.. incredible. Yeah, I'm sure that's what Apple was thinking. It couldn't possibly be that people actually wanted to watch this ceremony- like me, and countless others.

Oh, and I must have magically just viewed this on my Windows 7 machine. Nice lie to back up your troll.

You know that QT program you viewed it on, it's an apple product.
