That is inevitable. We should just get used to the fact. It's the price we pay for convenience.
Developing countries won't be 'developing' forever. Look at China. Look at India. The children and teenagers who saw someone using the device will try to imagine what life in the US is like, and they will be inspired to bring the technology to their own lives and make life in their own countries better. They will work many times as hard because they have a great motivation to do it, unlike many children in the developed world.
Besides, do you think iPads would stay at the same price for the next 50 years?
How is that making a difference? Apple still assemble their products using slave labor and exploiting workers while at the same time it boasts record profits and advertising themselves that it is very cool to exploit tax loopholes. Apple is a modern time robber baron.

Why would you think that ipad is forever? Look at other great products on the market. Another thing- apple is fighting legal battles with competitors, but with os7 it just ripped off intellectual property from many companies- whatsapp, android, viber/skype, and so on. I hope these companies will make a note and sue apple.

The older I get the more I realize that technology is just a means to an end.
Anyone can buy crazy, tricked out machines but the ones that deserve our true respect are those that use the machines for true good.
I think the crowning achievement of Steve's vision (even if he didn't and won't ever know it) is if someone uses an Apple computer to cure the cancer that took his life.

I would do the same, you can't even click on a Louis Armstrong video on youtube without seeing the N word splashed about.

Seriously, they could enter it as a documentary/short film. Really well done, filming, photography. Heck, they build the tools, so I would expect any less. Its a nicely done add.
I see a deep change in Apple with ads like this. They are reaffirming something, its more than just a bigger screen, its more than just a gimmick, its about purpose. There needs to be reason. I think that is where the competition are losing it, lack of purpose.
