No detail on why she left?
I'm just waiting for Apple to state an update to CSAM decision ... ?
sound: queue F is for Family Anthony's mumble sounds lol.

I just have this feeling something is coming up and this could be the reason? Dead horse I know but 8 months is very short for such a large company that does pay very well for this tier of job roles. Unless she's moving or being paid better elsewhere, who knows.

I’m sure she probably signed some type of non-disclosure agreement[NDA], as in these types of cases with departure of employees, rarely do we actually ever know the accurate details of what happened. Partly due to decorum for the company, but there’s policies and procedures in place where she doesn’t talk about the company and vice versa. In all likeliness, that was all part of her binding agreement that she signed a contract when she was employed. That’s pretty standard amongst any major corporation really.

Just a guess, but perhaps she did not fit into Apple's culture, hence deciding to choose a long-term Apple employee as her successor.
That’s the problem. In the current backstabbing employment climate, there is no way to know precisely why she left as it is not uncommon for communications teams to euphemistically obscure the real truth behind staffing changes, especially at the VP level.

It's a hell no to that job! I can only imagine the amount of hours she was working per week. I'm sure the money was good, but say goodbye to your personal life. Hopefully, she didn't have any young kids. I'm sure that played her apart in her decision.

Reading between the lines, the one who left very-likely did so because she didn't like what Tim Cook was asking her to do !

Specifically, she refused to go along with the planned cover-up !

More specifically, she concluded It's NOT ok for Apple to suppress third-party App Innovation, & she wasn't willing to tank her career for their screw up !

And, I'll bet she had some very heated discussions with Tim Cook about what's right & what's wrong, before resigning !

Off the radar of most, but won't be for very much longer !

"She joined Apple when the company had fewer than 20,000 employees"

Oh wow, such a great achievement. Must be considered one of the founders of the company?

Well, let's see what Low had to deal with in the last 8 months. Oh yeah, CSAM stuff, iOS15 debacle, the app stores lawsuits in various countries... Definitely a tough job for VP of communication, but we also saw Apple's lack of communication. Hopefully the veteran replacing her can be better.

Not really. Apple could've passed it by most users if they didn't create such confusion around their definition of on-device hashing and also announcing the parental monitoring for child abuse in iMessage at the same time as the CSAM scanning conflated two completely different technologies.
I doubt many people confused the two. My objections to the CSAM spying software are not based on confusion, misperception, or ignorance. And frankly, I saw just as many apparent misunderstandings among those who favoured the CSAM spying software as those who opposed it.

Again, the message wasn't botched. The very conception of the CSAM spying software was botched.

Someone needed to be shown the door after the CSAM fiasco. Apple’s reputation as a leader in privacy has been seriously undermined in the last 6 months.
Re: shown out the door for CSAM, maybe? But that's not the fault of the PR leadership or team for making a CSAM decision, is it?

Apple today announced that Kristin Huguet Quayle has been appointed Apple's new vice president of worldwide corporate communications, with Huguet Quayle replacing former communications VP Stella Low.

In a statement, Apple said that Huguet Quayle has played an important role at Apple for over 15 years.Huguet Quayle has been at Apple since 2005 and has been on Apple's communication team. She joined Apple when the company had fewer than 20,000 employees, and was responsible for leading communications during Apple's encryption fight with the FBI.

Prior to joining Apple, Huguet Quayle led PR for Sun Microsystems and worked at Burson Marsteller. Stella Low, who Huguet Quayle is replacing, was with Apple for under a year having been hired in May 2021. Prior to Low's hiring, the PR chief role has been empty since Steve Dowling departed Apple.

What the hell is going on at Apple, must be a lot of scapegoating going on for so many ivory tower executives to be leaving.

My guess it could be like what went on in the recording industry awhile back. To be growing at a exponential rate for many years then due to many factors drop to just normal growth feels like things are bad. No things aren't bad they are just back to normal.

The announcement wasn't botched. The very idea of this was botched.
I don’t think Apple wanted that feature but was being strong armed into it. I was surprised they announced it as I’m sure the elements pressuring Apple into we’re not expecting them to do so, but Apples’s lawyers found a way that they could…

Who would these elements be that you refer to if you don’t mind me asking.

If I told you my post would be deleted by Mac Rumors for being political. Not trying to dissemble, just saying. You can always google who’s advocating for Apple to drop privacy protection on the iPhone.
