If Apple are praising one of there own (Kristin Huguet Quayle has been at Apple since 2005) then why wasn't she given the job when PR chief Steve Dowling left? Instead they hired an outsider who has been in the job for less than a year. So if Kristin Huguet Quayle wasn't in the running for the job, why was she now and why was she given the job?

Could it be that Kristin Huguet Quayle being with Apple since 2005 knows how Apple operates and thus is more likely to keep quiet about how Apple does things more so than some from outside who is hired who has no loyalty to Apple what so ever, unlike Kristin Huguet Quayle who does.

Many theories come to mind. Maybe Kristin didn’t apply for the job the last time around, maybe her initial round of interviews wasn’t as strong , maybe she herself had other goals last year etc.
People change their opinion and tend to make mistakes, on both sides of the job interviewing table.

If what you said it true then Apple is full of crap then with regards to it's PR statement on it's hiring of Kristin for the job

Kristin has played an instrumental role sharing Apple's story of incredible innovation and strong values for more than 15 years. With an extraordinary depth of experience and a long track record of principled leadership, Kristin is uniquely suited for her new role overseeing worldwide communications.

because if this is the PR statement about Kristin then we are to believe that she was uniquely qualified for the job 1 year ago before they hired Stella Low and I highly doubt she change her mind in 8 months with regards to any of the reasons you put forward because if Apple believe Kristen is a stella appointment then she was a stella appointment 8 months ago yet they did not hire her.

Someone in the media needs to ask Kristin if Apple think she is suitable for the job, why wasn't she hired 8 months ago.

Yes we totally need in-depth clarification on this glaring issue.

And I didn’t state anything as fact, I merely indicated that plenty of different reasons come to mind why she wasn’t considered the last time around. Besides that we don’t even know why the lady they did hire then actually left, so there’s even more they’re not telling us. Scandal!

I don’t think Apple wanted that feature but was being strong armed into it. I was surprised they announced it as I’m sure the elements pressuring Apple into we’re not expecting them to do so, but Apples’s lawyers found a way that they could…
How is a multi-billion dollar company that claims to care about privacy strong-armed into anything?

This is the same company that puts pressure on the US Government to claim that aftermarket Apple product parts are all counterfeit and that monopoly laws don't apply to them.

Quite frankly: Apple wants to implement spy software into their phones for reasons unknown to us, though it's probably for politicla reasons both in the US and China. Both are big markets and they know they can claim the feature is "to protect the children" and will "never" be misused to identify political memes and locations of protests at the request of the government to stamp out opposition.
