Apple Preparing In-Store Pickup Option for Apple Watch

Yes, you have to mock check out to see it, but it is "currently unavailable" for me (logged in as guest).
Just proceed to checkout (after the apple id login) as you were actually buying it. For me it keeps unavailable for selection.
1) Select Watch.
2) Click "Add to Cart".
3) Click "Check Out".
4) If you are not already logged in, either log in or select "Continue as Guest"
5) You are then taken to the first step of checking out, "Delivery & Pickup Options".
As I previously mentioned, right now, for me logged in as a Guest, it has a greyed out radio button titled, "Personal Pickup is currently unavailable".
Things get stolen from offices, and all you get is:
"Soooooo, you shouldn't have left it on your desk..."
"Soooooo, we delivered it..."
"Soooooo, we're not responsible for personal items..."
It worked, here, didn't it?

Watch 1 and the iPhone 6 (8th generation phone). I see it more as an iPad 1 type of comparison.I think this is not live for all countries. I just checked at US Store and it is not possible to select a store, it says it's unavailable. In the UK Store I can select many stores to pickup the order.
What I don't understand is why I can't choose an actual Apple Store in order to pickup the Watch.
For example, the list of stores in London (near the Regent Street Apple Store):

I agree with you. I was replying to a comment which wondered why, after an iPhone was released you see them everywhere, where this hasn't been the case with the Watch.
I saw no first-gen iPads for a long time in the wild. It wasn't until iPad 2 they started to be on every commuter's lap.
If initial sales estimates are anything to go by, the Watch is doing well.
Pickup location is something different, that relates to picking up from your newsagents, parcel collection, point, etc.
If I understand what you're saying, "pickup location" and "personal pickup" are different things? Does that mean that in-store pickups won't be available to all countries?
I don't live in any of the countries where the Apple Watch is available, but I have a friend in the UK that could pickup. I think it is safe to pickup from those locations rather than "personal pickup", right?
Right now I can't even find the personal pickup for any item in the UK store. Maybe I'm just being really stupid but I simply cannot find it.

In the UK it seems like it's a collect+ type of pickup, they ship it to a collection point I.e. Newsagents and you go along to collect.
If I had a dime for each time I have checked the status of my 42mm SG BSB order, I could have ordered a solid gold Watch Edition. But this morning there's something different. My status is "Preparing for Shipment," and my bank account has been charged. It looks like I'm finally in the pipeline for delivery. I'm good!

I pre-ordered April 10 at 3:08 AM Eastern, and received a confirmation email at 0309. They gave me a 4-6 week delivery estimate that put me at May 13 to May 27. Looks like Apple is on schedule

Just received the shipment email. They have shipped it to reach me overnight and I'll receive it tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12th - one day earlier than the estimated May 13th. Apparently, this is the week that many of us who ordered the 42mm SG BSB have been waiting for.

When did you get your order confirmation or when did you place your order?

I ordered mine April 10th, with a conf. email at 12:14am PST. Still hasn't even hit "Preparing for shipment" stage yet, still "Processing Items". Same 42mm SG Watch Sport
I received the confirmation email at 0309 (Eastern) April 10th, and originally the estimate was May 13 - May 27 (4-6 weeks). My Order Status didn't change until this morning. It said Preparing for Shipment, and my bank was charged this morning at approx. the same time. So it all happened so quickly after the change in status. I live within "overnight" distance from the UPS distribution hub in TN or KY. The email said the package will arrive May 12th. Good Luck to you and everyone else waiting.
