No. Updates get held back on Windows devices quite often. "Major" updates are not made available for months on many devices. It didn't help that Microsoft fired a lot of their QA/testing teams some years ago to lean heavily on community feedback.
I’m not sure ios vs windows is the right comparison. iOS vs Android makes more sense and MacOS and Windows.
iOS all devices on the current major iOS version get the security fixes at the same time, legacy versions do not and do not get all the fixes. Android all the fixes are released at the same time for the previous 3/4 releases but manufacturers often don’t release them for months and months leaving gaping holes in devices. Plus their support periods are unpredictable. There are a few ok ones though.
Windows vs MacOS. Microsoft release security fixes for all supported versions of Windows at the same time. Feature updates are phased in. MacOS every supported device gets the annual updates and security fixes together. But older versions don’t get all the security fixes.
I'm totally pissed off with the 16.5 update. All swipes now lag anywhere from 1-10 seconds. Sometimes it lags so long that I keep thinking the swipe didn't register. The swipe is so bad that swiping becomes a tap and I accidentally open up news articles from FB instead of just reviewing the headlines.
Same lag in non-swipe actions too. Tapping the reply area of text messages sometimes takes 10s to show the damn keyboard. This is straight up stupid!
1-10 seconds lag... lol, I'm curious what phone he's using. I only experience issues with spotlight keyboard showing up with some micro-delay. But I actually never use it so I can't complain. Everything else runs fine.
They need to fix slow motion video too on the 14 Pros at least. It isn’t working on either of our’s and I’ve seen discussions elsewhere from others with the same issue.
I discovered a lot of problems see my YT! And the show goes on!
Why would it ask me for a pw in the App Store of my main iCloud when logged into a different iCloud account? I even logged in and out of the settings and the App Store itself!! Fix this bug!🍎
