Apple appears to be internally testing an iOS 17.1.1 update for the iPhone, based on evidence of the software in our website's analytics logs this week.

iOS-17.1.1-Feature.jpg

iOS 17.1.1 will almost certainly be focused on bug fixes, but it's unclear exactly which issues the update will address. The update could include the same fix for Wi-Fi connectivity issues that Apple rolled out in the first iOS 17.2 beta, and it could resolve an issue where some iPhones temporarily shut off overnight for users still experiencing that. Apple also promised to fix a BMW wireless charging issue affecting the iPhone 15 lineup in an update later this year, but it remains to be seen if that fix will be included in iOS 17.1.1.

It's unclear when iOS 17.1.1 will be released to the public, but our best guess is that the update will be available within the next week or two.

iOS 17.2 remains in beta testing, and is expected to be released in December, so iOS 17.1.1 will be a stopgap update. iOS 17.2 includes many new features and changes, including the promised Journal app, the ability for Apple Music subscribers to collaborate on playlists, a Translate option for the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro models, an iMessage Contact Key Verification security option, additional Weather and Clock widgets, and more.

Gesus... what is happening, almost like weekly update.
Yup lol. I basically gave up. From now on, it's two manual updates. The first .1 and the last for a given version. Every thing else in between can find a tall bridge and jump lol.

I see lot of kvetching about updates. You do realize most people don't give a hoot about updates right? They just have automatic updates turned on and once in a while they wake up and their phone has been updated.

If it's bothering you so much, just turn on automatic updates and stop worrying about it. iOS is good about doing these updates when you're asleep.

Hilariously missing the point. They release a buggy new version that causes issues every damned year. My point is stop doing that and instead once its a settled working system just release incremental changes and improvements.

It just works my a$$

It’s surprising to see all the babies complain about the frequency of updates. iOS is far more complex and functional than it was 5 years ago, bugs/exploits will happen. If you don’t want frequent updates buy an android device and deal with unpatched bugs.

Is there a betting market of how many new bugs are introduced in a new update vs. how many are fixed?
Hope it fixes the low sound of callers on phone calls on 15 plus I need to use speaker to hear callers. Sounds ok for other things

I can’t remember the last time (or ever) that my phone, Mac, Apple TV did not 'just work'. What exactly is not working for you at the moment?

Is it? If Apple cannot handle more than one timer, stickers, and some other trinkets that Android had 5 years ago, then maybe they need new leadership but not fewer complaints.
I was waiting for the Anti Tim comment. I agree with the last part. Fewer complaints. They’re predictable and boring. ^^

Still having lingering iCloud Private Relay issues over WiFi since the 7.0 update (Slow load times on pages, video stuttering, etc). Still persists in the 7.2 beta.

Edit: I’ll add this happens w/ and w/out any adblocking enabled.

Serious question. Where did you get the evidence to sustain this claim;
"most people don't give a hoot about updates right? They just have automatic updates turned on"
