Don't buy Apple accessories, they're awful. Be it the phone cases that break down like cake, the cables that yellow a fall appart, or the plastic watchbands they make from plastic trash and call it a "green" feature, faux leather and real leather that damage and stain other accessories...
I've only had a couple iPhone cases from Apple, but didn't have any problems with them.

Apple's cables do appear to fall apart more often than many other cables from other companies (although I have plenty that are not yellowed or falling apart), but this is likely due to concessions Apple made to Greenpeace years ago to remove PVC from the cables: https://fee.org/articles/this-is-the-real-reason-your-iphone-cables-break/. That is "greener" but if the cables lose their covering more quickly, it could be a wash in environmental benefit or is worse. However, the fact that the plastic degrades more quickly means that even if more cables end up in landfills because they fail more quickly, the plastic should degrade more quickly, which has environmental benefits. Apple has mostly switched to braided cables now though so they will not fall apart as quickly (making the criticism 'old news').

"or the plastic watchbands they make from plastic trash and call it a "green" feature". That is a green feature. It's recycling plastic. I'm not sure what's the problem with that.

"faux leather and real leather that damage and stain other accessories" Is this a widespread issue? Have you seen it with your Apple cases?

Crazy I bought two 2m TB4 cables on Amazon that even support 240W. For that price I could have bought four of those.

No it would be even 5 times the price of my better cables when I buy it at Apple in my country.

Also looks better than just plastic...

um not the same color... I prefer black sorry... lol

Well, Apple always tries to innovate in design and features but somehow this charging cable doesn't seem worthy enough.

"elevate your charging game"... translated, show us that you are completely irresponsible with money and buy this completely unnecessary charging cable with 1000% markup. People will think you're cool.
Pretty much!

I mean, come on, it's a freaking charging cable! Who in their right mind is going to buy these?!

I want to say the last time I bought any kind of charging cable was a set of longer USB-C to C cable for my car to accomodate my MagSafe charging mount with where I have it now (due to the larger screen I have and the phone clashing with it, hooked into the vent just to the left of my steering wheel) so something like this (especially an overpriced one due to the brand) seems silly to me

It should be illegal to produce usb 2.0 cables in 2025
You do realize these are charging cables, right? There are to charge headphones or whatever. Not everyone uses USB cables for data connection. I can’t remember the last time I used a USB cable for data. What I’d like to see is the wattage capability marked on the cable

Apple's USB-C to USB-C cable costs $19 for 1 meter 60W and $29 for 2 meter 240W.

Apple's USB-C to Lightning Cable costs $19 for 1 meter and $29 for 2 meter.

Beats (well Apple) is clever to offer 1.5 meter cables, as to avoid overlapping with Apple's. And USB-C to USB-A will be handy for travel, as many airplanes, trains, and rental cars have USB-A.

I generally avoid buying black USB-C cables as I like to use black for cables capable of high-speed data transfer, which these are not. So I recommend getting Beats cable in Surge Stone or Rapid Red color instead.

A USB-C cable costs 8 euros on Amazon, and if you like to take a risk there's a magnetized one that is truly anti-entanglement on Aliexpress for 4 euros apiece.
The best cables I ever got (for longevity) are the ones that were the cheapest.

So you think a 4 euro Aliexpress cable is a good option over the apple "made-of-plastic" bands. Oh boy, if you only knew what materials the Chinese use to produce those low cost cables :D
