Also, hopefully, Mac OS 10.5.7 will make the system look good with 2.2 gamma. I have seen some complaints that when people switch from 1.8 gamma to 2.2 gamma everything is darker. The UI is darker and is not as "nice".

I've always used 2.2 gamma.

Default makes everything look washed out..

Calibrated 1.8 looks fine. 2.2 is a little bit too dark. I hope 10.5.7 or Snow Leopard will fix this. Apple did make Mac OS X with intent to use for 1.8 gamma.

Really? Apple intended OS X to look like it does on 1.8? Link? Shall we argue matte v glossy on this issue too then? Did Apple intend OS X to look like it does on a matte screen or glossy?

1.8 is the default gamma, looks fine if you are used to it. But compared to 2.2, 2.2 has much deeper colours.

Snow Leopard apparently will have 2.2 gamma by default.

So how would 10.5.7 "fix" this gamma issue?

I'm looking to December. That will be 10.6.2, the first version sufficiently bug-free to really try. ;)

It seems with Leopard the first sufficiently bug-free release will be the 10.5.7 that should fix syncing issues. That aside, Leopard has been good since 10.5.4 but I still can't sync my phone so in that regard Tiger still wins.

What is the point of releasing the Safari 4 beta if you won't be able to reinstall it in about a month? That doesn't make sense to me.

Ooo, so it will not install?

Another good reason to go back to Firefox. firefox just needs to make smooth scrolling good, and it will be the death of ****** crappy safari.

Good job apple,
