Play down nothing. It's nothing but hype.

Just be weak and old.

I’m going to leave this here as my final reply to you on this topic. I told you so. Many of us told you. Repeatedly.

You’ve dismissed, undermined, rejected, and mocked every caution about corona, as well as peripheral and secondary effects.

Good luck to you. I think you and your country need it. I’d be so very happy to be wrong.

Two things...

Bravo for the Beaver. Don't let the aubergine have all the fun.

And still no "YES" / "NO". Don't @ me about checkmarks.

And yes, I've looked at suggesting it. It's a ginormous bureaucratic nightmare hellscape.

I love emoji. I just want the facility to hide the ones I will never, ever use on my phone but still be able to see them if my friends use them.

The volume of them is getting a bit silly now.

And which of those is a bigger group? If it’s Samurai and they don’t have an emoji when ninjas do, what’s Apple thinking?!?

LOL! I have no idea 😜 They are both deadly, but one is more "noble" and "honorable" than the other, so they say.
Rhetorical question. 😁

lol. We'll be fine. Calm down. Save the drama for your acting classes.

Serious question: does anyone know if there’s a male symbol or a female symbol? Idk if they don’t exist or what the case is, but if they’re making a transgender one I’d assume the others are there somewhere, it’d be crazy to make an emoji for .1% of people before ones for the other 99%. I’ve looked for them though on several occasions where I wanted to use one of them, but I swear they aren’t there.

I have both the and in my iPhone text replacement. It's faster than searching for Emoji.

The first time I saw the bubble tea I thought it was iced coffee. They need an emoji giving a raspberry. The only one sticking its tongue out is for something that tastes good.

Surprised bubble tea wasn't already there. Emojis originated from Japanese phones, which is why a lot of things in the original set make no sense outside Japan, like the "beginner" symbol. I know bubble tea is from Taiwan, but I thought it was also popular in Japan.

Anyway, bubble tea is probably the only one I've cared about since the original set.

Pretty close, yeah.

Yeah. Not buying into a mild flu going around means I think the world is flat. Yuuuuup.
So far the number of deaths in the US is 2-4X what the flu caused in previous years, and the year is only halfway over, and that's with everyone under lockdown. I thought maybe they're blaming coronavirus needlessly for deaths, but overall mortality has also spiked (if you remove car crashes, which are down). No matter how you dice the stats, it's a lot deadlier.

Where's the coronavirus looking emoji?? Surely something that permanently changed the world deserves its own emoji.

Apple has de-facto veto power over any proposed emoji.
True, Apple has a very powerful voice. But we don’t live in a world where apple successfully bullies the likes of Google, Facebook and Microsoft.

Dumping rifle, for instance, was a unanimous decision by the committee, though the opposition was supposedly begun by Apple and another company, Microsoft iirc.

Not really. The 1918 flu killed 50M and basically no ones knows about it and it changed nothing for today. That’s about 100 years. Nothing is permanent except probably stupidity and overreacting.
Maybe stupidity isn’t permanent; I hear that wearing a mask is now “Patriotic”. Too bad it comes months late and after tens of thousands of needless deaths.
