Wonder why Apple doesn't have a platform similar to Google Drive.

I have asked the same question myself. I currently use google drive and quick office on my iPhone 5. I wonder why Apple doesn't release a desktop software to store files and folders just like google drive and Dropbox do.

Because Apple and Google can't compete in every single arena. It would be impossible. It's just not the type of company that Apple is. Apple is a computer and software company. Google is an internet company-- anything that can involve the internet will interest Google. Google wants to create a service for every single thing online. Apple only wants to create a service for certain things.

You are so right jason2811, for each it's own these two companies each have their own specialty.

I'm in the same boat...I use google services to include google drive, google contacts, google calendar, google chrome (in desktop, have the icloud sync extension), and of course google gmail. I prefer to use iPhones than android devices because of the iPhone's reliability, but sure there is no better match for google drive than google drive itself.

I have all of my documents stored in google drive, and any time I make an update on either desktop or phone, the change take place immediately no matter the file extension. The same can not be said for icloud services, you can only sync certain files like for pages (word), numbers(excel) and so in, while on the google drive app, no matter the file extension, it'll always open everything in one app. Not to mention the desktop software that Apple doesn't even have one and I hope this will change soon.
