Its ironic that no one mentions that Samsungs flagship havent even started selling yet in the american market, while many are fast to bring up the "carrier card" :- )

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S II really has been doing phenomally well abroad. It still has yet to reach US shores (and when it does, Verizon is not going to have it, only AT&T, Sprint and T-mobile) and in Canada, only Bell currently sells it out of the 3 major carriers.

Seems to me on the "carrier" front, Samung and Apple are pretty much equal there. Of course, Samsung has broader coverage thanks to their lower-end models though.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Here in Japan the iPhone's has only been available on one carrier (the worst) since launch. Made Softbank whole heaps of money but Apple could completely own the market if it launched on DoCoMo (the biggest).

just release the iphone 5 already then we will know what they sell... makes sense right..........

I think its great that Apple wants to have a working iOS5 before releasing Iphone5. The delay of iOS5 is the reason for the iPhone delay.

This is not Android hating:
Look at Android 3.0 reviews. Every review complains about bugs, crashes and no native software. Apple knows that the software is the phone. Not the hardware. The hardware is just for a couple of % of the market that are geeks that care if a camera is 5 megapixel instead of 8.
That a phone can record 1080p instead of 720p. 4G instead of 3G.

These 3 examples are because of:
Reviews of cameras on phones: Apple is always in top 3 even if they have lover megapixel. The camera house is more important then megapixel. How many have 8 megapixel monitors to show the pictures?

The latest Android phones have 1080p recording. According to the reviews they don't have constant frame rate = it is a useless feature. Apples 1080p recording will be with constant frame rate.

4G: 4G androids have 50% less battery time then iPhone 4. 3G can download at 21megabit. 4G at 50. Why are people obsessed with downloading 50 megabit on a phone? Especially since most have data caps? It took 3G over 5 years before there was a phone that had battery time of 1 day. 4G may reach this goal next year with iPhone 6.

Wow... Apple hasn't even released a new phone in over a year!

Samsung Galaxy S II is the best Android out there.

Since Apples AT & T exclusivity ended earlier this year, I don't understand why Apple just don't release iPhones for all carries. (beside if Apple needs to have new hardware since different carriers in the world uses own standards).

And all without a bigger screen

I've seen a lot of comments about how Apple simply must put a bigger screen on the next iPhone. Yet here we see that the iPhone 4 and the 3GS with there supposedly inferior small screens are both selling better than any model with the supposedly superior massive screens.

I won't mind if the screen size remains the same. I won't mind if it increases. But to suggest that the market demands it is clearly counter factual. Look at the numbers!

Hopefully within a year or so the only phone on the market will be the iPhone. I hope that every person on earth buys one and that all other companies go the way of the dinosaur.

Well that's just silly. But of course you're being sarcastic. Honestly though, who are you lampooning? No one here wants that to happen or has suggested that they want that to happen.

That said we like to see Apple do well because we like Apple products and the chances of more Apple products coming along rather hinge on the success of the company at present. Furthermore, a healthy level of market penetration for iOS devices is vital for the health of the iOS Apps market which those who own iOS devices have a vested interest in.

So it's entirely rational to be pleased that a company who's products you like is finding success. Let's not pick fights.

I think there are a lot of people here who would love to see that happen.

I am not being sarcastic and would LOVE that to happen.

I hope that Samsung, Nokia, Blackberry etc end up pulling out of the phone market altogether

But no one has said it in this thread, so pre-emptively lampooning the as yet unmade statements of idiots is hardly the best way to keep a thread on track. Besides, 'a lot' is relative. Macrumors is a popular site and it's the nature of popular sites to always have a healthy lunatic fringe. No need to encourage them.

Oh come on! See this is what I mean. Let's not do this, eh? I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not (though you claim you aren't) but I'm half way through saying we shouldn't encourage idiots and then you go and say that!

Yeah I have to agree it has been doing really well and it is sad that it took this long to get to North America.

In other words, in a few years or sooner, Nokia will be known as the Motorola of Europe. RIM will probably be software only, if they're lucky.

And in reality it is only one phone they sell instead of ton of different models

What is good about this site - it is actually includes numbers and not just percentages. So you see that Apple increase and even though there is infection of Androids. ( It's like a virus - they spread all over - but take different forms ).

But but but android!

My Point in posting that was that I am just sick of all the iPhone haters that bash bash bash, and anytime anything positive about the iPhone is posted as a story out come the Android guys to say how great Android is, and iPhone users are just sheeple and crap like that.

Just happened to get first post I guess, wasnt trying for it.

Hey, I like my iPhone, it does what I want at a price that is reasonable to me. I get sick of the personal attacks.

Great they like their phone, I am happy for them. Glad we have such a competitive marketplace b/c it drives us to better and better products.

So you're also sick of the haters posting here that bash other companies and want them disappear, don't you?

I guess you're right, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but it is typical of what I read here on a daily basis.

I did a little creative editing to your post.

We wouldn't want to have double standards now would we. ;):D
