They are talking about the predictions for Q4/2025 (December Quarter).

When did we stop using Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4?
They did not use Q1, Q2, etc. because the Apple quarters differ. The number they announced today are for their Q4 - in Apple quarters the holiday (December) quarter is Q1. So using this term would make it more confusing.

Literally looks the exact same. Center stage isn’t a feature worth upgrading for. A newer chip that doesn’t make a real world difference in speed isn’t a factor either.
Dude, center stage I can’t comment but the chip speed has reached the point that for most iPhone users the processor performance was actually overkill, and bottleneck was actually on storage system. Besides, program can’t be loaded faster than 1s anyway.

not sure how, I went into an Apple Store and felt the new phone. It's awful. Chunkier than the 15 and doesn't feel like a premium product anymore. It feels light and plastic. I really don't like the Aluminium - I distinctly remember having loads of issues with the frame showing massive signs of wear after just a few days of use with the previous generations using this material on the frame. Scratches super easy. I love my 15 Pro Max - it's indestructible. no case and not one mark on the frame.

I speak for the hundreds of people I sell to every year. Clueless.
It’s a key feature that makes every day use feel even more refined. Formerly a feature of Pro models only; maybe you should be upping your game and informing/educating your customers on the technology-value proposition that they are considering purchasing.

There are a few key features in the new 17 that people probably may not know about or maybe they do but don't mention their desire for it. To be fair, let's assume @Dark_Omen works at an Apple Store...he's not saying he's NOT educating/informing people about features--he's saying people aren't mentioning it when purchasing 17's.

Whenever I sell an iPhone 17…. Nobody asks for it because of a 120hz display.
To be honest, IMO, other phone makers do 120Hz better. Something about ProMotion that isn't always that stunning. I've also got a nice Samsung Android with 120Hz that actually looks like a 120Hz display and better than my iPhone 17 PM.

It's so crazy because in the small sample size of people around me, i don't know a single person who is upgrading. As far as I can see, so many folks are struggling and if it isn't broken, they are leaving their phone as is. Kudos to everyone who is able to do well and be making large purchases right now.

No, you're confusing it with the iPhone Air.
The iPhone Air they say isn't selling, when we know from the past nearly 20 years that early adopters go for the high-end models and then around the holiday season is when we see the mid and lower models sell like crazy.

The iPhone Air isn't selling.... and then they have articles about how it sold out instantly in China.

I'd keep in mind that right now it's just early adopters. We see the big sales surge come at holiday time, when people buy the devices for the family and themselves. That's when the typical user upgrades. To this point it's just the tech nerds who grab the new one on release day.

Sure, most of my friends haven't upgraded at this point but I expect to see lots of them do so in the coming couple of months.

Despite what the loud mouth minority says, 110% convinced majority upgrade yearly. You can’t have numbers like this increasing every single year other wise.

I won’t waste my breath on talking about it because people don’t care. Heck, I don’t even care about 120hz on a 6.9 inch screen. Some people need to open their eyes and understand that certain features are just a waste for 99% of the buying public. Even if I try to show it to them on demo devices, the screens look exactly the same. It’s simply not a feature that’s worth purchasing a new phone over. I push people to the iPhone Air if people want a device that’s significantly different than what they already have.

Did you vote for them too? Do you have the capacity to comprehend my statement?
Obviously you don't have the capacity to understand my entire point. I base my point based on real life experiences with a large sample size of people. You simply throw stuff at the wall and hope it sticks. Hope that breaks it down enough for you to understand.

If people like you put the number out based on your interaction with people who bought and if those people also answer the survey that they do as well, you end up with a repeat of the same data. Do you understand what I’m getting at?

The average user doesn’t know or care about the 120hz screen.

Yeah but the average user cares about price.
The pro went up in price when the regular didn't. But they also hear that the regular inherited some features usually exclusive to the pro; and now they can fit double the number of photos/videos they could last year, which'll make them see it as better value buy.

I don't really care about half the features of the things i would buy; but if i'm presented with an otherwise equal choice between two competing items; one with and one without; i'll pick the one with; since it's got more features. Even if i don't use them.

I'm not saying the plain old 17 isn't a good phone. But if you were to spray paint both the 16 and the 17 the same color, people wouldn't be able to see the differences unless they happened to pick the newer one based on luck.
