Apple has shared two new ads on its YouTube channel, one promoting the long battery life of the iPhone 14 Plus and the other using the iPhone 14 Pro to highlight Apple's Crash Detection feature.

The first one-minute ad, "Battery for Miles," depicts a man slowly driving a tractor as he tows a gigantic pumpkin along a long, straight road seemingly in the middle of nowhere. "Two Miles An Hour" by Ludacris plays in the background.

Mounted in front of his steering wheel is an iPhone 14 Plus running Apple Maps, which tells him "In 102 miles, continue straight." After the man briefly raises an eyebrow, the tagline appears: "Our longest lasting battery life ever. Relax, it's iPhone 14 Plus."

In the second ad, "Crash Test," a car crash test takes place in a hangar, to the tune of "You Can't Hurt Me No More" by Gene Chandler. The collision occurs in slow motion and tracks a crash test dummy, until the vehicle comes to a rest.

Mounted on the dash is an iPhone 14 Pro with a display that reads "It looks like you've been in a crash." Then the tagline reads: "Crash Detection can sense a severe car crash and automatically call 911. Relax, it's iPhone 14 Pro."

At this point, customers interested in purchasing a new iPhone‌ should consider waiting for the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to launch in September. Various changes are expected for the next iPhones, including Dynamic Island for all models, USB-C instead of Lightning, and a Periscope lens for at least one of the Pro models. Check out our dedicated iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro guides for all the details.

I am happy with the battery life. I think the crash detection has been a nightmare for 911 operators who have all the reports from skiers who set off the crash detection when there’s no crash at all.

I would brag more about SOS if I were Apple.

As an iPhone 14 Pro user, battery life is awful. Way worse than the 11 Pro I “upgraded” from. Probably the only iPhone I’ve ever bought that I had regrets about. (And for extortionate amount of money here in EU I must add!)
Agreed.

My iPhone 14 Pro had horrible battery life. Sometimes loosing up to 20% within an hour of very light usage. Simply restoring the firmware didn't change anything. However, after doing a full DFU reset things have improved considerably. I had to set it up as a new iPhone instead of restoring a backup. Might be worth the try.

The ad says 14 plus for the battery life, so I don’t know why people cry “false advertisement” comparing to pro.
Thats probably because the thread says "two new iPhone 14 ads". Apart from that, battery life on pretty much every iPhone is horrible in real life. 4-7 hours max. Additionally degrading over time with use. They all got a point. Including you.

Assuming the tractor is running at the titular 2 miles per hour a 102 mile trip would amount to 51 hours on the road
Leaving aside that's way more than any iPhone will last you using GPS I don't think your phone running out of juice would be the problem at that point!

Anyway cute ads, I wonder how they filmed the car crash one

Battery life is not long. Pure average on my 14 Pro Max. Fake advertisement Apple.
The ad is about the iPhone 14 Plus hope this helps.
My iPhone 14 pro absolutely does not have a long battery life

As a copywriter I like the idea. As a user of iOS16 I find it an insult. Battery life has been terrible.
What phone? They are not talking about iOS 16.

iPhone 14 Pro has the smallest battery of all the iPhone 14 line. iPhone 14 Max has the largest. That’s why they are advertising its battery life.

Uhhhhhhhhhh………

Okay MacRumors, these ads have been on the air

SINCE MARCH DURING MARCH MADNESS…………

so they aren’t new…….. 🤦‍♀️

Apple only finally got around to posting these on YouTube. Probably someone forgot to upload it there and someone probably got fired for it also for forgetting to do so. 🤷‍♀️

I would agree. Under "normal" usage. That is checking emails several times per day, interacting with messages, using safari to look up data, reading the news, possibly using some apps, YouTube, etc...I will be lucky to get 8 hours. I now carry a couple of Anker magsafe chargers with me at all times as the internal battery simply doesn't cut it.

Could it perhaps be that Apple has repeatedly underlined how 14 Plus has the "best battery life in an iPhone ever" while, on Apple.com, clearly and in no uncertain terms rates 14 Pro Max as having even better battery life than 14 Plus?

And that both 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have higher rated battery life by comparison to the 13 Pros, according to apple.com, but underperform for most owners irl?

The little "4" isn't a footnote explaining a how Apple disabled a selection of features to get to these battery ratings. So I really don't understand how or why anyone would defend Apple on this one.

The 14 Pros simply do not have better or even on-par battery life compared to the 13 Pros. Whether it's a result of not adding enough mAhs to compensate for the new Always-On Display features or Always-On draining far more than Apple calculated. Or some other new feature draining too much. I have no clue.

But apple's own battery life ratings for the 14 Pros are just false.
