There's no way the iPhone still be in the phone holder, it would be somewhere in the backseat or underneath something or worse out in the road. o_O

Could it perhaps be that Apple has repeatedly underlined how 14 Plus has the "best battery life in an iPhone ever" while, on Apple.com, clearly and in no uncertain terms rates 14 Pro Max as having even better battery life than 14 Plus?

And that both 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have higher rated battery life by comparison to the 13 Pros, according to apple.com, but underperform for most owners irl?

The little "4" isn't a footnote explaining a how Apple disabled a selection of features to get to these battery ratings. So I really don't understand how or why anyone would defend Apple on this one.

The 14 Pros simply do not have better or even on-par battery life compared to the 13 Pros. Whether it's a result of not adding enough mAhs to compensate for the new Always-On Display features or Always-On draining far more than Apple calculated. Or some other new feature draining too much. I have no clue.

But apple's own battery life ratings for the 14 Pros are just false.

Non Max is even worse. The 14 Pro has the worst battery life in recent iPhones. It also overheats a lot and contributes to the rapid degradation of battery health to 90% in less than a year for mine.
My experience is a little different - which is not surprising: battery performance is highly dependent on how a device is used. I’ve had my 14 Pro since launch day and it’s currently at 96% - which is pretty solid. And it’s never struck me as the worst battery life in recent years. I wake at 5:30 am, call it a day around 11 pm and rarely see battery dip below 20%. A full day (plus) works for me. Again, YMMV.

Hold on, I thought the Plus and Max battery life was pretty much the best of any smartphone? At least from those YT comparisons I saw. That's why I was thinking of going back to iPhone from Android.

You're doing better than me. I'm down to 92% on my 14 Pro. I've picked it up back in October, so in just 9 months, I've lost 8% capacity. I really am expecting a warranty replacement if it continues at this rate, as I'm losing 0.9% every month. That's pretty poor. If it carries on this way, I'll be down to almost 78% capacity in 24 months!

Oh dang. Even with the variance that is battery health, that does not sound good.

As an iPhone 14 Pro user, battery life is awful. Way worse than the 11 Pro I “upgraded” from. Probably the only iPhone I’ve ever bought that I had regrets about. (And for extortionate amount of money here in EU I must add!)
Same here. I went from the 11 Pro to the 13 Pro. Big mistake. Battery life is atrocious, it's constantly hot (even with little use), and it must be charged multiple times a day.

I actually thought about getting an iPhone 14 Plus, but given it used an older SoC than the iPhone 14 Pro, I dropped the idea because the battery may not be as good as advertised. May get the iPhone 15 Plus because the current A16 SoC is actually quite power efficient and the possibility the new phone may get a 4,912 mAh battery.

I've never lost more than a percent in a year, but my 14Pro is down to 93% in less than a year. At least that is what it tells me. Not good.

I have the 14PM still at 100% and excellent battery life compared to my old 12PM WHICH HAD HORRIBLE BATTERY LIFE! I’m very happy. YMMV

I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max on 4OCT2022. I use it over 15 hours every day. Battery is now at 97% capacity and runs all day without charging. I shut off screen always showing as a waste of power.

"Crash Detection can sense a severe car crash and automatically call 911. Relax, it's iPhone 14 Pro."

Yes. I'll remember this when my legs are broken and I'm bleeding out.
