Ahead of the season two premiere of hit TV show Severance, Apple is marketing the show with a fun Severance pop-up at the Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

Apple has assembled a glass cube with workstations that are identical to the setups that Lumon employees use on the show, complete with employees "working," doing yoga, playing catch, throwing paper airplanes, sipping coffee, and performing other activities that we've seen on Severance.

At 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Severance director Ben Stiller made an appearance at the site, with some of the show's actors visiting as well. Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, and Tramell Tillman were on hand and spent time in the makeshift office space, with the actors in character as their "innies."

The performance went on for more two and a half hours, and the actors behaved as if they were actually at work at Lumon Industries.

Severance is set to return to Apple TV+ on Friday, January 17, three years after the first season of the show premiered.

Damn, that's a pretty smart PR stunt. People have said that Apple needs to promote TV+ more, well there you have it.

I can't believe Apple hasn't done an MLS/Ted Lasso tie in yet. Maybe Season 4 will see him returning to the US and training a fictitious MLS team with occasional real world tie ins.

Some other ideas:
- Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon hosting a morning show live from Rockefeller Center broadcast in the Apple News app.
- Carpool Karaoke sponsoring the Grammy's and taking some of the winners for a spin around the block with James Corden after receiving their awards.
- Schmigadoon only got 2 seasons but I could see a flash mob at Grand Central going viral.

Apple TV+ is finally starting to get some well deserved buzz because of Severence. Keep it going.

I wonder if those present at this at this make-shift event were allowed to record it or only snap a few pics. I see people with their phones out and I don't really see any kind of security but I'd definitely record it if I was there, very cool, a lot better than your typical Hollywood Premiere.

Of course they can. It's out in the open at Grand Central Station, and it's there for publicity.

I’m an Assistant Director (1st AD) in film and TV. I’m very impressed with this marketing campaign.

One thing…dialogue. If they stayed in character for 2.5hrs, how’d they handle dialogue. It’s impossible to remember 2.5hrs of straight dialogue.

I’m curious if anyone shot anything on their iPhone while there. Going to YT now.

I think the second season of Silo is significantly better than the first.
I don’t know that it’s better overall but it’s very good in its own right and downright great near the end as the momentum grows. I mean, the latest episode’s ending was fabulous.

I’m going to be reading the books once I’m watched the S2 finale. They’ve got me hooked.

I’m only half way through, and I’m really enjoying it. A couple of friends have both said it’s not as good as season 1, but I don’t think I agree.

Looking ahead at the episode descriptions it sounds like they’re still not going to have finished book 1 after two seasons, although it also sounds like they’re mixing things up a bit so it might not be that simple. I kinda like it when they change things a bit so I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen.

If someone could elucidate and substantiate the rationale behind spending $20 million per episode on the second season, I would assert that it serves as an effective means of laundering money and establishing a bridge that I would not be inclined to purchase.
I could somewhat rationalize the expense if it were a multi-unit production, filmed on location with elaborate sets, action sequences, and a substantial cast.
I appreciated season 1, but given this exorbitant price tag, I find it difficult to justify.

So many shows drop the ball in S2.... American Gods S2 was garbage. So was Altered Carbon and don't get me started on Westworld.... I waited 3 years for Arcane S2 and that was all over the place, storywise... Like the three shows I mentioned first, there was just no heart in it.

I think I'll wait for some reviews before I restart my Apple TV sub. Not holding out much hope, TBH, but being wrong would be a pleasant surprise.

If this what they did for Severance, I can't wait to see what PR stunt Apple has planned for the next season of Teheran :).
