Seriously interested in the why. Can you share your “user story” for using this in a teams call over the usual setup? Webcam, dual monitor should be standard by now
Over the last couple of years, no one in any of my team calls has ever turned on their video feed. Primarily because they don't want to get "ready" for each call. So it's a video conference only for screen sharing purposes. All other video feeds are off. The web cam quality without exceptional Youtube studio level lighting is crap anyway. And how unportable is a dual monitor setup?
In the future where multiple participants have a headset, there can be multiple screens shared at the same time. Multiple users can be visible and in that case, it's just better to have digital personas because no one will want to turn on their video feed otherwise. This is the future of web conference. This is the future of remote work. The sooner you see it the better for you.

Thanks for sharing.
Been managing massively distributed teams across the world for years with a clear "camera on" policy. Never ever experienced and would not have accepted that princess problem of "having to get ready". Since '21 the 1080p Facetime cam in MacBooks has become pretty good. for the price of that gadget there is a nice MacBook Pro waiting!
I work with real people and don't need such a fancy high-tech gimmick for avatars. If you want to life in a world of Emily Pellegrini, that's one bubble I am not in...

hahaha. Dan looks like an actual potato.
Given how my Persona came out, your comment offends me; potato-heads unite not to be spud shamed ;) dr who.png
