Unfortunately this is becoming more common with Apple releases. Poor operations management again.

So you equate problems to "poor management"?

Let's take a step back. Apple is continually releasing new stuff, which is in addition to the stuff that came before it. This means they have more and more to support over time, which effectively means that their job is getting harder and harder. When problems occur, it's not necessarily due to anyone doing their job poorly, but needing to adapt to increasing complexity over time. I think Apple does a STELLAR job given the immense responsibilities that they create for themselves.

Does your job get harder and harder and harder with each passing month? If it did, I think you'd have difficulties once in a while, too, and it would be cruel for anyone to criticize you for doing your best.

For anyone getting a phone tomorrow, remember, if you update to the beta now, there's a few extra steps before you can backup/restore to your new phone. Remove the beta profile for now, get your new phone, restore to it, THEN put the beta back on :)
Ahhhh thank you! Perfect timing for this reminder, just got the beta profile removed and I’m all ready to migrate to stock 14.2 on my new 12 Pro Max tmrw :D

Good thing I waited THIS long to strap 14.3 on. Seems like all of Apple's servers were crappy today.

I noticed a LOT of companies having major server and connection issues over the last 24 hours so may be something more widespread

I’m usually on the beta during Phone time and have to go through this EVERY time. Due to when the Release happened THIS year, and when the new beta came, I‘m finally able to actually do it the EASY way. Thought others may have been through the same!

PS5 preorders but those are gone now...

Expect round 2 around the 19th I believe.

"It just works" has become "It just might maybe work if you turn it off and back on a few times, or perhaps wait for the 0.2 or 0.3 patch release... Perhaps you're better off sticking with what you've already got... Oh but then you won't get the new icons"

Bit of a disingenuous misquote. He specifically said operations management. Apples infrastructure is clearly unable to cope with the multiple near-simultaneous launches of so many products, updates and betas. Plus the people hammering the online store for shipping updates and the in-store work to get products into customers hands.

Good ops management would have highlighted having so much load concentrated in the same period as being a particular issue. They would have either then spread launches out a bit more or scaled out their services to handle the load. I bet the latter was done, but just not by enough or they failed to identify a bottleneck.

Not sure it's really because of a mistake in seeding but rather that they don't want the added pressure on these to compound their problems. I think everything began with demand for Big Sur as betas don't tend to affect stability.

Got 14.3 about 2:10 AM, EST. Took a little while though, about 35 minutes from download to installed.
