I miss ios18! My ipad has 18 and my phone has 26, every time I use my iPad it's so smooth and put together, it was more my style... I also agree with the commenter about disabling the borders around the apps and widgets.

I believe people should give iOS 26 and Liquid Glass a chance.
The problem is that you can’t revert if you don’t like it. So it’s not a question of giving it a chance, once you opt in you’re stuck with it.

I tried it out on a secondary phone (and found it to be a usability regression), but most people don’t have a spare phone to experiment with.

I've acclimated to the translucent bling. It's fine for me. If I had a choice I'd downgrade until they repair the connectivity issues in 26.x with CarPlay though. My phone came with iOS 26, so I'm just enduring in the meantime.

Think the placement of 26.0 was the right one for this version…
26.1 is much better and it’s ok to get this more prominent.

I find it amazing what some people find annoying or deal breaking with 26. I messed with it enough that it is clean and nothing major or minor makes me think it’s trash or Apples worst update.

Anything can be a dealbreaker where there is nothing interesting enough in iOS 26 to merit and update.

I believe people should give iOS 26 and Liquid Glass a chance. While iOS 18 wasn’t perfect until the end of its cycle, that’s not the point. I genuinely love iOS 26. Liquid Glass alone makes my phone feel brand new and luxurious. You can even tint it if legibility is an issue. The only current issue I’m facing is the clear icon bug that loads after swiping on the Home Screen. Otherwise, it’s been solid. Give it a try!

There is no "give it a try"; you can't uncut down a tree

I've been using it on my work phone since a few days after it was released. Still don't care for it.

Apple rushes out updates prematurely based purely on artificial ($$$-driven) timetables and the wonders why people are hesitant to update. Amazing.

After a little over a week with the 17 pro, I still do not like the liquid glass UI. This is just as controversial to me as iOS 7 from iOS 6.
Then there are minor bugs that just irritates the crap out of me. An hour earlier, my calendar app icon on the home screen turned into a folder of apps with no apps in it...never seen this before in ANY prior iOS.
To make it worse, the daily nagging from my daytime watch to install WatchOS 26 is getting overboard. Already tried that with my sleep watch series 9 and absolutely hated the UI.

Settings app moved over to the next page on the home screen. All alone to blaze that bloody badge probably through the summer with what I have been reading about how iOS 26 quality has been progressing 👎.

I wish I could go back to iOS/iPadOS 18, and I’m NEVER someone that says that. I reverted back from Tahoe to Sequoia on my personal MacBook and my computing life has been so much better.

Liquid Glass is just not it, man. Not a fan at all.

I made the mistake of installing iOS 26 on my company issued iPhone. No way in heck I'm putting it on my personal iPhone until LG is fixed/removed/optional. I'm tired of being Apple's beta tester for their garbage Liquid Glass UI. Same deal with Tahoe.

I’m very unhappy with ios26. I wish I never made the switch. I desperately miss 18 more and more every day.
