Regarding possible Scotland/Northern Ireland links to this, I just commented on another thread that I haven't seen anyone from either of those countries reporting that they haven't had the email.

Can anyone from Scotland or Northern Ireland confirm if they haven't had the email. It may be useful if you say where you are.

I agree with that actually...perhaps Apple should have said 25-30th March at the very start..we would be none the wiser!

Thought preordering a new product and getting it delivered in just one week was slightly wishful thinking...

Man I'm gonna lose it if this starts happening in Germany too. So far so good. Fingers crossed.

Those of you getting the emails: What model did you order? 32GB Wifi seems to be the common one to get the delay from the comments I've seen, but maybe they are just going down a list that it happens to be first on.

I ordered 32 GB WiFi in the USA and got the confirmation email that it has shipped through FedEx for delivery on the 16th.

If you snooze, you lose.. You should have ordered on release day!

Well it does appear to be the 32gb wi-fi model. I guess this is the most sought after value wise.

I ordered this said model at 2am, a couple of hours after the store went live. Yesterday however, I mulled it over and decided to cancel at 3pm and I ordered the 64gb wi-fi instead. So far this order still seems to be on track for the 16th.

It does appear to be this 32gb that is either in short supply or over subscribed.

Emails just keep arriving for me at the moment. I click on mail with trepidation each time.

To make it even worse, I responded to quite a few threads on the Apple Support forums yesterday and I have email notifications on, so lots of my emails have Apple in the sender name.

I think I'm going to turn off notifications.

Somewhat Related Question

A quick somewhat related question:

Will the new iPad be available to play with on the tables at Apple stores before the 16th? Do have new products in the past not been available to play with in store till actual release date?

Ordered the 16Gb White 4G version evening time on the 7th (don't remember the specific time).

Still says 16th, didn't get any emails about delays yet.

I'm in Liverpool UK

Absolutely disgusting to be honest. Firstly UK fans were treated poorly by the store being completely messed up for over 4 hours longer then what it should have. Finally the store came back on about 11:45pm! People saying 11.30pm are completely wrong..i seriously was by the computer for 4 hours pressing refresh and my order went through at 11.52pm on 7/03/2012.

Makes me laugh that they are obviously just showing more care to their USA customers but it was UK who were the first country to have pretty much every Ipad sell-out first!

I preordered a White Wi-Fi 16gb model..My order status still states 16th March and as of 3.40pm (UK-Time) i havent received a email saying my preorder has been delayed.

Then USA customers get shipping notices just to rub it in our faces! Great way of treating your fans.

Overall? Awful handling of this new product and even though it could potentially be a 2-3 day delay is still very unprofessional.

I wouldnt be suprised if they delay the whole launch in UK 'again!' to make sure USA get all our allocation.

Are you serious? You know we have different power adaptors right?

I never seen them have demo units before release days

Delayed by a couple of days?! What a complete launch failure!

Seriously considering we don't know the reason for the delay, it might not even be Apple's fault. Should really just be pleased they even attempted to launch multiple countries on the same day.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I ordered two white 32gig AT&T 4Gs and two black 16gig wifis.

The two black wifis have shipped. No word on the LTE ones.

I'm in London and I orderd a black 64Gig Wifi+4G at 6:30 am on the 8th (two orders failed at the final hurdle before midnight so I decided to hit the sack and try again later). I finally managed to get my order through using the Apple Store App.

I still have no email saying mine has been delayed. My order confirmation email came through at 8:44 am on the 8th and my status still says to be delivered via Standard on the 16th.

I certainly hope it arrives on time as I'm selling my iPad 2 on the 15th (managed to arrange this all very neatly). All that being said, I'm not going to lose much sleep over a couple of days. I know we all love our gadgets and we all look forward to them arriving but life goes on! If yours gets delayed do what I'm going to do - relax. In the long run, as they say, we're all dead! Why waist time stressing over stuff you can't change?

I pre-ordered my iPad at about 530 PM EST a few hours after pre-orders started, and the status still says "preparing shipment" I guess I am on of the lucky ones that will get their iPad a couple weeks after March 16th :( I should have lurked the Apple store website and waited for pre-orders instead of watching the keynote when it was uploaded.. darn..

Wait. My order just turned to "preparing shipment" yesterday about 8pm. 16gb black wifi. That mean it can still be delayed?

I think you're right on the location thing. I can't find one person who posted a location here who isn't Scotland/Northern Ireland/Cornwall (and the Cornwall one is Land's End).

Could someone with a better idea of Scottish geography have a look through the three threads and work out how remote the areas are?

From a post in the main UK thread someone was told they are shipping them to Syncreon in Hinckley (which is apparently near Coventry). That would make sense for the Northern Ireland delays (though why they aren't sending them to Cork like I thought they usually do?)

It does look like it might be just the "far" reaches of the country, so possibly the blame lies with the couriers. I guess I'll just sit here hoping it is, and that my firmly Midlands location means I don't have to deal with a delay.
