Absolutely disgusting to be honest. Firstly UK fans were treated poorly by the store being completely messed up for over 4 hours longer then what it should have. Finally the store came back on about 11:45pm! People saying 11.30pm are completely wrong..i seriously was by the computer for 4 hours pressing refresh and my order went through at 11.52pm on 7/03/2012.

Makes me laugh that they are obviously just showing more care to their USA customers but it was UK who were the first country to have pretty much every Ipad sell-out first!

I preordered a White Wi-Fi 16gb model..My order status still states 16th March and as of 3.40pm (UK-Time) i havent received a email saying my preorder has been delayed.

Then USA customers get shipping notices just to rub it in our faces! Great way of treating your fans.

Overall? Awful handling of this new product and even though it could potentially be a 2-3 day delay is still very unprofessional.

I wouldnt be suprised if they delay the whole launch in UK 'again!' to make sure USA get all our allocation.

you and your post is one of the most ridiculous things I have seen in a long time.

I'm in the UK and I was half way through ordering after the UK site was up at 8pm albeit only for 10 minutes when it bombed out on me on the accessories screen. I then called UK Apple sales and got through to a lovely lady in Texas and was told I was her first pre-order customer. Got email to confirm purchase from her at 8:47pm GMT so hopefully I won't be bumped :)

I'm in Lancashire and ordered 32GB black WiFi version.
The lovely lady from Texas strikes again!:D

I spoke to her at 9.25pm and reported my experience with said nice lady on another forum, only for another member on the same forum to have had the same one.

This lady needs an instant promotion

USA! USA! USA! USA!.....

kinda sucks. Be patient. My Apple TV order was pushed back like a week. Maybe if Apple didn't release products that were so bad ass we wouldn't have this problem.

I ordered a 64GB 4G Black model in the UK. No delay email yet - so still on track for the 16th. I imagine that my model is one of the less popular ones (or at least I hope so now!).

Same spec here. No email.
I'm in London. I didn't order mine until yesterday *afternoon*.

Did she also tell you that you were her "first pre-order customer"?

I think you're right on the location thing. I can't find one person who posted a location here who isn't Scotland/Northern Ireland/Cornwall (and the Cornwall one is Land's End).

Could someone with a better idea of Scottish geography have a look through the three threads and work out how remote the areas are?

From a post in the main UK thread someone was told they are shipping them to Syncreon in Hinckley (which is apparently near Coventry). That would make sense for the Northern Ireland delays (though why they aren't sending them to Cork like I thought they usually do?)

It does look like it might be just the "far" reaches of the country, so possibly the blame lies with the couriers. I guess I'll just sit here hoping it is, and that my firmly Midlands location means I don't have to deal with a delay.

I'm in Paisley(Glasgow airport is actally in Paisley's borders) and in we're in the central belt so don't think its to do with being remote.

Edit: It's full name is Glasgow International Airport.

For God's sake people... it's the new iPad, not a cure for cancer. I think you'll flippin' live if you don't get your toy on the 16th.

People are so damn materialistic anymore... their life is just incomplete if they're not getting their toys.

Actually, I just like trying to see some logic in this sort of thing.

If it gets delayed then so be it. I'd be disappointed because I am looking forward to getting it, but you are correct, it ain't the end of the world.

You should try reading the article before commenting.

in fairness to the poster, albeit a tad over zealous, the article was not JUST about UK first day orders slipping.. it was also about if you order today that the ship dates are slipping.

who's reading now ?

Are you serious? You know we have different power adaptors right?

Are you being serious? Honestly thought voltage and plug difference wouldnt delay anything really! This launch has been prepared for quite a few months, no?

It might be delivery companies delaying the preorders..so if that is the case.i'm well and truly wrong for bashing Apple but at this stage, it's all very unclear and again..thats unprofessional.

Thankyou for your response.

Well it does appear to be the 32gb wi-fi model. I guess this is the most sought after value wise.

I ordered this said model at 2am, a couple of hours after the store went live. Yesterday however, I mulled it over and decided to cancel at 3pm and I ordered the 64gb wi-fi instead. So far this order still seems to be on track for the 16th.

It does appear to be this 32gb that is either in short supply or over subscribed.

32GB makes the most sense due to the sizes of HD videos and upcoming apps.

Jeez..i wish i didn't state my opinion on a forum where i thought you were allowed one...

But... isn't there an Apple store in Glasgow. I kind of want that to put a end to the "location" theory, because surely they will get thousands to the store, so getting you guys your preorders shouldn't be that much worse should it? Do they have to put the labels on in the Midlands then ship it by canal or something?

My UK order is still scheduled for the 16th - very relieved! I'm only back in the UK for the weekend, would've been a problem had it been delayed.

So I had to check right away, I ordered about 00:20, literally as the store started to load again, mine still says ' Delivers on March 16 ' - hopefully it won't get pushed back..!

Maybe Harrod's should invent something this cool!

Lolz gd point! Two on my last count. The original in Glasgow Buchanan Street and a (almost) brand new one in Brehead shopping centre. Both massive!(In comparison to other stores, might just be norm for apple)

Im kinda disappointed with this launch. I liked the idea of filling the majority of USA orders first, and then several months later began shiping to the rest of the world.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/9B179)

I'm in central Scotland and I ordered a 16GB white Wi-Fi model - no email as of yet and the status is still showing as 'Processing' with delivery on the 16th. The order was placed just after midnight.

I hope I don't get the email, not because I will be dissapointed which I will be but because I havn't put my usual address for delivery. There is no way it can be be delivered on the 21st there will be no-one at the address for weeks.

UK getting screwed again. First the store didn't come online until like 3 hrs after the US store had been up. Now we're getting shipping delays whilst US customer are getting shipping notifications!

Awesome...
