You're correct, it does seem like Apple has lost it's magic. Still good devices, but the product ingenuity seems to be gone. I work in a fairly big office complex and still don't know anyone who's purchased an Apple Watch. Usually when Apple releases a new product, there's usually someone you know who buys the product right away. Just my 2 cents. I remember when I saw the first iPhone, when the gentleman gave us the demonstration, my first comment was...Why would anyone buy any of these other phones when you could have this tech.
PS...I love my iMac though.

I dont really understand the hate here.
The Apple crowd has become whiny and fickle.
As an owner of Apple Stock I applaud advertising...
Also how would the average customer that doesnt stay current with the Apple ecosystem and doesnt frequent an Apple Store supposed to know about the services they can provide.
Information is always a good thing

I guess it's kind of like getting ads on HBO while you are watching a movie or a show there.

No it would be like getting an ad for a TV while watching HBO
It's not as much as what the ad is about (although that is one part of it, and getting an ad for a TV on HBO would be fairly out of the ordinary as well), but more about where/when/how it comes up, or at the very least it's about all those things equally. So, if an ad for anything would come up on HBO while I'm watching a movie or a show that wouldn't be expected or OK as that is somewhere where ads are not supposed to be on HBO.

So you think an ad in an app store is out of place?
Whats the difference if it was a banner for an app?
Even an app ad is out of place popping up and taking over the screen. Has that been there like that before in all these years? Again, akin to an ad for even another HBO show appearing while you are watching another show or a movie--not something that was ever before or would be expected.

I've heard this of other people, and I simply don't get how that's possible. Or could I really have had the bad luck to buy a bad phone twice in a row? Not very likely, because the first one was even replaced a couple of times. Therefore I still think iPhones are pretty much disposable devices.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion and based on your first-hand experience I would conclude the same thing.

However...
My 32GB GSM iPhone 4 is still going strong after 4 years. Another iPhone 4 (32GB CDMA) that I use as an "iPod Touch Pro" is even older than that one and is fine too.

No You visited the App Store, very different then your example. So You object to the Apple home page Ads? Object to the Ads when You walk into an Apple Store? When you visit Amazon same objection? Best Buy, ever go to their home page or walk into the store? If Apple actually advertised on the Apple TV while you were watching HBO, you may have a point. This thread is pointless IMHO.

These complaints, along with that battery case whine-a-thon, makes me really sad at what the Apple fanbase has turned it.

Anyone know if this deal will be available outside of the US? I will be in Japan around xmas, planning to get a 6s .. and would not mind getting the equivalent of 320$ off for a trade in ...

Double post. . Sorry..

sending feedback to this is one thing, Apple taking action on this is something else.

If it was a product, then yes. they would care but advertising ? They know what they are doing, i doubt feedback will get Apple to remove any popup, simply because as annoying as may be, it helps them sell more phones. Why wouldn't they want to sell more ?

If its annoying for you, that's just selected users view which to Apple doesn't count.

Its like asking Google to remove adverting cos it bugs you.... Their business model is advertising, so they won't listen..

Just because Apple is has a different model with advertising i don't think would make any difference.

Even Google doesn't seem to suddenly be putting up full screen ads to buy a Nexus phone when you simply open their Google app to do or check on something.

Its all in how you care for your phone...
Everyone always says "Its my baby..." and it all scratched up and the display is cracked...
Things will start to fail after its been repeatedly dropped...
Analogy...
Your car after an accident.
The visible damage may be a damaged fender or front end.
But there could be serious damage under the hood /undercarriage...
