WTH? Last time I check there was not a universal right to demand a dual band router.
A tech company offers you adequate working device. Why should they replace your router for free just because your earbuds? reality distortion field .oO?
I didn't say DEMAND, nor did I mean to imply that.

Just explain that you live in an area with a gazillion 2.4 GHz WiFi networks, and that you can hardly use your WiFi as a result, and ASK them if you can swap your present router for a Dual-Band model. They should understand. Really. Most people are generally reasonable, if you don't start out like a jerk.

When I moved into my neighborhood 20 years ago, I was the only WiFi network that I could "see". But around 10 years ago, that all changed, and it seemed almost overnight!

If I didn't have a dual-band router, I basically couldn't use WiFi at home AT ALL.

It's a common problem. Your cable company should understand, and most likely will. There are only like 3 "groups" of Channels on 2.4 GHz (yes there are 11 chans., but the way they overlap in frequencies, it works out to really only 3 "sets" of channels), and there are more like 150 Channels on 5 GHz. There's simply no comparison.

I live in an area with exactly one wifi (my own). Again, I did not ask to have the perfectly fine working wired headphones taken away by Apple in new products, and replaced with a technology conflicting with WiFi as used all over the world.

And if 2.4 GHz WiFi is so congested all over the world, why does the wireless headphone replacement need to use the same frequencies? :-/

We need solutions, not problems ...

Use the lightning cable EarPods. I have zero issue with my home and wifi hotspots with either my AirPods, or the 5 other pair of BT headphones coming from Beats, Bose, Jaybird, etc.

Gotta love a world where headphones and refrigerators need software updates.

Particularly the welcome of "bug fixes' It's never getting smaller, its only getting larger.. what with iOT devices now as well to the mix aside from earbuds.

Only cavemen wold have scratched their heads wondering what those 'fools' are doing.

Bluetooth uses 2.4 GHz. Apple wanted the AirPods to work not only with iPhones, but with any Bluetooth-equipped device. That's why they chose 2.4 GHz. Because it was a STANDARD.

Do you understand that???

as a kernel and driver developer for this technologies I fully understand this, ... however, I do not ask them to take the reliable, interference-free headphone jack away from me and replacing it with a notorious fragile technology that additionally requires even more daily charging and additional charger equipment in my bag, ...
