Apple Raises Trade-In Values for iPhone, Mac, and More

Something tells me the price hikes will be significant…

What I’m more curious though is if, come September, we’ll be able to trade-in iPhone 17s and iPhone Airs given that these two devices won’t be updated until later in the year.

On second thought: Could this be a way to decrease demand on the 18? It's usually bad press if you can't make enough to satisfy demand and the price and scarcity of RAM this might be Apple deciding to make customers happy now so they're not unhappy with supply constraints in a few months. They also get to clear out phones that will take a price cut in the near future, so it's kind of a wash.

Pulled the trigger.. traded 16PM for $720 and got 17PM with some change and gift card balance.. I think I got good value out of 16PM using it for nearly 2 years and not ready to pay more for 18PM.. I think can hold on to my FOMO for another year or so...

I'm surprised they're still offering anything for the iPhone 8. That phone is 9 years old this year. It still gets security updates occasionally, but iOS 16 came out in 2022.

Ok, you trade in iPhone 17 and then what? What exactly are you gonna buy if they only sell iPhone 17? To answer, they need to release iPhone 18 before they start accepting iPhone 17 trade in.

Also rocking a 16PM, wasn’t going to upgrade (every 3ish yrs) but now looking hard @ a 17PM w/ AAPL receiving the 16PM in trade 🤔

Don't bother looking up your trade in if you are on T-Mobile with a Simple Choice plan. They don't know what they're doing. Literally from their website: Get up to $150 off with trade-in on Simple Choice plans, "except for Simple choice. Click here to check your current plan." What does that even mean? Apple will offer me $285 for my 13 Pro, and then I get the 3% savings from the apple card and 0% financing.

T-Mo really wants people off the older, cheaper plans.
