I added the numbers in your quote...I will address each:.

2) I have never ever seen a sale at the Apple Store. Please alert me when you get the flyer in the paper or hear the radio/tv ad...or if you are there, snap a photo. Maybe you are referring to the back-to-school promo where you get an old iPod with your $1700 Mac or this year it's a $100 gift card to App Store. I don't call that a sale. A "sale" is when something "goes on sale for a discounted price" for a period of limited time such as 1 week or 30 days. I have never, ever, seen iPads, iPods, or Macs at the Apple Store "on sale". Ever.

5)I think you should relax a bit and not take every single syllable of my points too literally. It's Friday...chill out.

the numbers in your quote...I will address #2 & #5:

2) Black Friday!! (Friday after Thanksgiving)

3) Take Your Own Advice CHILL!!

It just goes to show that people prefer to spend money on high-end electronic gadgets instead of other things. Apple is the best at packaging the whole experience. Remember all the other non-Apple electronics gets sold through a 1000 different retail channels. Also those retail channels SUCK compared to an Apple Store for those people who actually like to shop IN a store.

I wonder what Apple store you went to. The last time I went was the blinding sunshine of my knowledge that appeared to scare the pants off of the employees. (The looks on their faces was one of fear. I was delightful to watch it change from inviting to one of terror.) I even recall locking horns with the manager.

Still, going to a store to pay full retail price; be elbow to elbow with Facebook browsing window shoppers; or deal with the Geniuses is a waste of my gas and time.

I would much rather take it to the local AASP just over a mile away and have my problems resolved instead of the usual run around I received at the Apple store or wall of denial.

Don't even remind me about our Apple rep.

You don't think it could have been the smart-ar**d 'I know everything about computers and should be hailed as a genius' attitude that scared them off then?

I wonder are most of the responses on this message thread a bit on the facetious side.

But seriously, Apple needs to move to a larger retail space at their two Sacramento-area stores. I'm hoping that Arden Fair can find them a larger retail space and Roseville Galleria moves them to a much larger retail space in the rebuilt part of the Galleria.

I'm amazed that they have such a small space at Arden Fair. There's barely room to turn around in there.

Apple Stores are the hip/cool place to be. You see lots of young people congregating around the Macs browsing Facebook and trying out iPods.

I don't understand why people buy stuff other than Apple's own hardware in these stores. All of the third party accessories they sell are massively overpriced.
I think it might be the psychologically perceived advantage of having a product in hand, and being able to buy and enjoy it immediately.

At its core, what I've described is the advantage of "brick and mortar" over online retail.

Go to Fry's Electronics or Microcenter.

Maybe because by not being overwhelmingly negatively affected by the recession they have been able to produce products that individuals wish to purchase.

Or maybe because they employ ~50,000 people? They all get to keep their jobs?

Actually the state of the economy helps Apple. It's made it easy for Apple to float to the top. If the demographics of Apple customers were revealed most would see the obvious. Those who are least affected, have the most disposable income for iToys. Just one more reason that pads, pods, & phones are selling well.

This has possibly been the best post I've read on here... so many contrasting views.
Apple is a company people love to hate, or hate to love, or just love and think they can do no wrong (Fanbois). I used to dislike (note dislike not hate) Apple, now I don't but at the same time I don't love them, I think some of their products are great (iPhone, iPad ((iPad not as revolutionary as most think))), some are MASSIVELY over priced (Mac Pro for example), some are pointless in my opinion MacBook Air (some will moan or -1 me for that, until they beef it up, thats my view). Fact is, Steve Jobs has done a great job doing what he's done however as someone has already pointed out, it will stop sooner or later. I can tell you from fact that *most* Apple resellers won't make alot of money on Apple products and that they make their money on accessories, on service and on support. NOT from selling Apple products, Apple keep virtually all the margin themselves.

So people who buy Apple products are ignorant?

I wouldn't say ignorant no... but lets be brutally honest, people using or buying Apple products (on the most part) are less tech savvy, and they buy it because they like the simpliscity, the great designs they come out with, the walled garden effect and not being able to really screw things up on their devices - take the iPhone for example a product I love, but I also hate for the way it is restricted, if I want to bluetooth a friend a picture I can't... if I want to download a video clip from a website I can't... if I want to watch a flash animation I can't... the bluetooth and video download I understand, Apple respect copyright holders (with music and video very well @ least). But flash IS needed on Apple devices, HTML5 might be big in 5 years time, but its not prevalent fully yet.

My 2 pence (as I'm English), now rip me to shreds all the forum trolls out there lol
