Too late, Apple! Last year I paid for upgraded iCloud storage. The syncing on Windows was totally broken. I finally gave up and migrated everything to OneDrive. At least OneDrive is usable on my Mac. The same could not be said of iCloud on Windows… At this point I don’t intend to migrate again…

Hopefully it works far better because when it comes to making Windows programs Apple has the coding skill of a 5yr old, usually buggy, unreliable and when it comes to iTunes that program is a resource hog that runs like crap, and this is on a 4090, 5800X3D with 64GB RAM running of a 4TB SN850X NVMe.

No other software I use runs like this, just Apples.

OneDrive? Dear Lord...

Better keep track on that local storage of yours...

Does anyone know if this fixes the iCloud Shared Passwords not showing up? I can see my personal passwords but anything shared isn't there since the release of iOS 17.

Is icloud drive finally working now on windows omg? I want to get rid of Synology drive so badly.

I would like to challenge that statement - OneDrive on the Mac is usable. As I mentioned earlier, I tried it for a week and went back to iCloud. It just wouldn't sync properly. And I had already moved stuff out of iCloud so I had the hassle of putting it all back!

How do iCloud photos in the photo library app work? Or is it just a glorified web app?
I think it works well. The iCloud locations show up in Explorer and the Photos app. If you use OneDrive and files on demand it is similar to that.

I am glad they are addressing the frequent login issue. Every time it does this I end up with another Windows device in my Apple device list.

Finally, for the first time in ever, iCloud for Windows actually works how it's supposed to for me...

Good to see all the changes happening for the Windows versions this week.

Had issues with old icloud drive in windows. It always runs in a second explorer process, using permanent 8% of the CPU. That makes my fan (yes they have fans 😂) blown continuously.
Hope this issue is gone?

Anyone else now getting the following error after installing the update?

Screenshot 2024-02-09 095223.png

I've double/tripled checked and I do have the Media Feature Pack checked/installed already.

Sigh...installs fine but when I go to sign in the 2FA window pops up on both my MacBook Pro and iPhone and they immediately disappear before displaying any numbers. Any ideas?

"Existing users simply need to update the app to obtain the new design and improvements."

I feel like I'm being an idiot, but how do I do that? I don't see any update option in the current app and when I follow the MS store link it just says I already have it installed. Trying to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling.

Mine showed up in the updates section of MS store…might have to do the uninstall.

That was it! I had to go into the MS store and manually scan for all app updates. Weird that it wouldn't tell me there was an update when I clicked on the app in the store, but I guess I'm used to the Apple store.

Thanks!
