$49 for a strip of silicone.

Exactly.

This price used to be excused in the Sport Loop because Apple used fluoroelastomer instead of cheap silicone. It seemed justifiable in real life, because users comparing the two said fluoroelastomer didn't stain or attract lint and grime like silicone did. Many said it simply felt better as well. So the Apple band might have been overpriced, but it was also clearly superior.

Well the new band is silicone, not fluoroelastomer, and it's still $50. So here we are. What's the justification now?

I just tried it and I came out a 12. I am definitely not a little guy though, so I think most folks will be able to find a fit. Tim did say they're really stretchy.

I'm sure there's more than a single magnet in there. Every bump is probably a piece of steel and a matching magnet, or perhaps even opposite poled magnets for extra strength.
Tim said that? Really? I def missed it when “Tim” said they were “really” “stretchy“. 😂

I find it really odd that Apple didn't utilize the AR Tech they talk about so much to tell users how large the band should be that they order. Asking me to print out a sheet of paper is measure is so un-Apple.

Yep, it's just pathetic and comical that Apple is telling us to *print out a sheet of paper to measure ur size*. If Apple was really truly innovative about the customer experience, they would have made use of AR instead. The new LiDAR scanners are perfect for these precise measurements, but of course Apple is too focused on chasing after profits by making LiDAR exclusive to expensive iPhones and iPads; they cornered themselves into not being able to roll out AR measurements for all devices. If Steve Jobs was still here, I bet he will add LiDAR to ALL products (as the tech is ready) and really push AR instead of printing a sheet of paper

Go on Amazon and get one for $15. I have several and they're all wonderful. I get compliments all the time.

$100 for recycled yarn watchband? That's up there with the $1000 monitor stand and the Mac Pro wheel kit. Some things are just stupid.

Did these anti-claspers really remove the Woven Nylon straps years ago only to replace them with this? What, because buckles are for luddites or something?

I don't see how making a strap that needs 18 different versions is a better idea than having a few notches.

talk about environmentally unfriendly. A vast of number of these will just need to be melted down again when they don't sell and the juggle new colours in three months.

Some people just like to pay a premium while calling dissenters whiners. Probably makes them feel superior or something whilst in reality they are just fools being easily parted from their money.

I bought two straps from Amazon for £11.99 that are visually identical to the £49 strap the watch came with. It's hysterical as it is astonishing that some rush to defend Apple and their markups. Sure, no one is forcing me to buy them, and I don't. But I am not going to use my time to try and defend Apple by belittling critics on a forum either.

What nylon straps are you talking about?

These were leaked a few months back. Everyone thought they were ugly. I'm impressed Apple followed through on them.

I actually like that design. Might get that for my apple watch.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant the Woven Nylon straps like the one below. I've been particularly indignant because I always thought the weave offered a lot of variety in potential patterns and I felt the more subdued ones looked a bit more formal without having to get a leather strap. (vegetarian)

I know it's been a couple of years now though. I assumed they removed them to mitigate any confusion or dissatisfaction when the lug profile matched the new shape but not the old shape. I been holding out hope that that they would reintroduce them some day.

Today was not that day. :(I have got a fake one off Taobao in the past but the quality was pretty poor.

The same way you charge with any of the other loop bands. How is this even a question that needs to be asked?
The other loop bands have some sort of a "clasp". Leather loop, sport loop, milanese loop.....all of them.....o_O
Obviously, it's possible. It just seems a little clunky...with the included charger.
That is the point I was really making. Since it has to be explained to you. Sorry that things are so difficult for you.
Also....I didn't NEED to ask the question. It was rhetorical. I was just making an observation. You didn't NEED to say anything, but NEEDED to make yourself feel better. I don't care about you...not even a little.

I like the idea of no buckle and a custom size, but $99 for a woven yarn strip with a November 20 delivery date? *sigh*

Even half that is too much. This should be $30.

I'm curious how stretchy the Solo Loop is because it could be the ultimate surfing watchband.

I don't understand the problem either. You just place the charger on the back of the watch. Clasp or no clasp doesn't make this easier or clunkier.

Now if we were talking about a flat charging mat, yes that would be a problem because the watch wouldn't be able to lay flat.

Milanese loop and sport loop have a clasp, but that clasp does not completely separate the band to allow the watch to lay flat. It only adjusts the size. So it's no different than the new band. I thought that was obvious when I explained it the first time, but I guess I have to use smaller words for you.

The Solo Loop won't fold to lay flat like those. Of course it will work...but, be a little clunky. Be Best with your bigly words. :D

Why are you obsessed with the watch laying flat? The charger holds on with a magnet. Leave it on it's side. It's even designed to be charged on it's side, that's why nightstand mode turns 90 degrees when you do it, you stupid ****.

Never been obsessed. That's you...projecting. Just said it would be kind of clunky. That's my opinion, and you aren't going to change it. I don't care about you. Not even a little bit. Hahahaha! Seriously triggered. Be Best.

But it was designed to be charged that way. How is it clunky?
