They don't get a commission for extending AppleCare. Theres a good chance your battery won't fall below 80% in 6 months so if you're worried about paying more than the $100 to AppleCare+ and still not qualifying for a replacement don't wait. Stop paying the monthly fee and it will cancel itself, then go to Apple and have the battery replaced. I know you received bad information from the Apple specialist but there's plenty of online info like Apples support page which comes up when searching "Apple iPhone battery replacement cost" that gives information on various service needs. If I'm looking for 100 F temps in my car, I've got a long while to wait as it's still winter in Michigan, lol. I just checked - I've been paying the extra for over 4 months now and it's still at 81%. So I guess it's a crap shoot at this point - keep paying $9.99 a month for AppleCare and hope it goes before I've spent $100, or ditch it and know I've wasted the $40 I've already spent. My biggest gripe is the Apple genius lying to me about the price. If he'd said the truth, that the battery is $100, not the $300 he told me, and was honest that sometimes that 81% hangs around for a while, instead of saying it'll change soon, I woudn't have renewed the AppleCare, would've just bought the battery when needed. Does anyone know if they get a commission for extending your AppleCare?
