The same way their website says I can get a battery service for $49 for AirPods 2 . Guess what? One word.. HOOPS.Their website offers it for $100 just like it did when I purchased the watch.
They offer free recycling for my series 3. I think the OP should take that offer. 😆😆😆Apple doesn’t promise anything on an obsolete product!
I already provided the link - it’s not yet obsolete- the offer for the $100 replacement is still live.Apple doesn’t promise anything on an obsolete product!
Ok. We have been informed. No - this is informational to people who are considering a purchase.

The link means that Apple is promising to replace the battery for $100 which it is not honoring. The watch is NOT “vintage” as you imply and still eligible for service. The link means nothing and you like arguing with everyone over a relic Apple watch.

My opinion is that if the battery percentage is duff then there's a bigger problem that they can't/won't/aren't obliged cover on a 6 generation old watch. Why aren’t they replacing your battery then? The amount of wasted time you spent going back and forth making no progress at all is priceless.
Because I’m not doing this for me at this point - everyone that buys a watch is entitled to the services that are promised at the time of purchase. Why aren’t they replacing your battery then? The amount of wasted time you spent going back and forth making no progress at all is priceless.
This isn’t personal - this is for all consumers - I’m not working for me but to have better choices and service in the future for all consumersMy opinion is that if the battery percentage is duff then there's a bigger problem that they can't/won't/aren't obliged cover on a 6 generation old watch.
I have no idea how much the OP earns (no desire to either TBH), but had they worked the hours they have spent on this they could easily afford a new series 10 with the money earned.
I will add the caveat that pre apple watch I usually broke the watch before the battery ran out. The one exception was a swatch, who offer free battery replacement, so maybe the OP should get a swatch?
For anyone curious - the eu investigation on interoperability of smart watches is here:

Commission starts first proceedings to specify Apple\'s interoperability obligations under the Digital Markets Act
Today, the European Commission has started two specification proceedings to assist Apple in complying with its interoperability obligations under the Digital Markets Act (‘DMA\').ec.europa.eu
I wonder if they have received info from people already who have old batteries “stuck “ at 80+%. Easy to find online complaints across apple products where there is a unit swap vs. battery replacement - obviously not just the watches (AirPods, iPads come to mind).
One word: USB-CNo one carees besides you. Getting the EU involved in products just leads to higher prices.
One word: USB-C
A business can not refuse service if they specify that service will be available at time of purchase.if you -REALLY- want this done and Apple wont do it, DIY or pay someone who isnt Apple to do it.
i dont understand the controversy
Apple isnt your friend, they are a for-profit business. a business that can refuse service to anyone for any reason.
So the 'why' doesnt matter. you should focus more on 'how' you can get this done.

And it is all on the right to repair and consumer protection laws as well.Businesses can refuse service when it falls out of their guidelines. Try taking Apple to court over this issue. The judge will dismiss the case immediately.
Apple told me **in writing ** that the estimated health of my battery is between 60-65% so it’s well within guidelines.Businesses can refuse service when it falls out of their guidelines. Try taking Apple to court over this issue. The judge will dismiss the case immediately.
