Nashville Chatter Class has discovered a new Russian-language regulatory filing in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database pointing towards several unreleased iPhone 13 models that Apple will be launching in the fall.

EEC-Apple-iphone-13.jpg.jpg

Versions of iPhone running iOS 14 are listed with the model numbers A2628, A2630, A2634, A2635, A2640, A2643, and A2645. None of the numbers correspond to Apple's existing smartphone lineup.

The EEC filing, published on Friday, satisfies Russia's requirement for companies to register all products containing encryption and/or cryptographic tools. Several new models of iPhone and Mac have been registered with the EEC in previous years and these devices turned out to correspond with later device launches.

Apple's 2021 iPhone 13 lineup, due to launch in September, will look similar to the 2020 iPhone lineup, with four devices in sizes that include 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, and 6.7-inches, with two of the iPhones being higher-end "Pro" models and two positioned as lower-cost, more affordable devices.

Major design changes are not expected, and 2021 iPhones will have the same feature set as the 2020 iPhones, but we can count on camera improvements, a faster A-series processor, a new 5G chip from Qualcomm, increased battery life, and some tweaks to the notch. See our dedicated iPhone 13 roundup for all the details.

13 or 12s ?

i always assumed 13 was unlucky
13 is considered unlucky in western cultures, but numbers like 4 and 9 are unlucky in China.

Every number probably has a lucky / good // unlucky / bad meaning somewhere, but I think we've moved on from less enlightened periods in our history. :)

Microsoft "traditionally" has an aversion to 13, but Apple so far haven't demonstrated any.

No Mini Pro then? :(

According to the rumours this will be the Mini's last hurrah, I would be very surprised if they introduced a Mini Pro.

I'm a small phone guy myself, but I just don't see the market for a pro device in that segment when even the regular-specced variety is struggling at the price point.

Sooooo if they have registered these 3 months before launch, I think it’s safe to say no MBP coming imminently, if those haven’t yet been registered.
We don't usually get these kinds of registrations for MacBooks, do we? Are they just for cellular devices? I'd honestly be astonished if there isn't a MacBook Pro announcement this year. There's almost no way the iMac will be the only device to transition to Apple silicon in 2020.

As stated in the article:

So yes the MacBooks would need to be registered if they have encryption which they do… we are pretty much guaranteed an M1X event at the end of the year I think

Wishful thinKing if Cho Ming Kuo has been correct thus far. This year may be the last for the mini.
Yep, the last one, the last chance to get an iPhone mini. And it seems like it will be a great smartphone if the rumors are correct. For one, the cameras look promising, bigger sensors, better stabilization. The bigger batteries plus a more power efficient A15 and modem should improve the battery life.

Then, hopefully, this is the year Apple brings back touch ID. Let’s cross our fingers.

Where is a version 13 of anything Apple?

Interesting. I feel as though we see these kinds of articles for Macs on MR way less than they come up for iPhones or iPads though. Maybe that's nonsense.

Well, they could do like a mini every 3-4 years or just make the iPhone SE the new iPhone Mini
