"the possible negative connotation with drug use and measurement that could be associated with the app"

There is no other use for this app!

Your phone is not a scale until there is an app for it. Your phone was not a spirit level... until there was a spirit level app.
but that does not require putting pressure on the screen. People will weigh heavy things, crack the screen and blame Apple for allowing the app in the store.

sounds cool, but not really useful in real life. Are you really going to measure spices and other powders on top of your phone in a spoon? If you have a screen protector or case it will prob affect things as well. If you are using a spoon then its most likely you are using spoon measurements vs weight.

I would use it to weigh out my birds food, everyday

Awesome, protect the masses from the idiots.
I am surprised they allow thermometer apps in the store. I would figure people would be stupid enough and set the phone on the grill without using a probe.

They have tons of fart apps in the store, yet THIS is the app that "isn't appropriate" o_O
The fart apps don't advocate laying a spoon on your display. Anyone that thought that to be a good idea should have their dev license revoked. ;)

Your phone can sense pressure, but it cannot accurately weigh materials. Your comparison doesn't hold up as those require different hardware.

Too bad that Apple rejected it. Huawei showed off a scale app on their Force Touch phone a few days before Apple announced the iPhone 6S with 3D Touch.

Idea is very creative.
But yeah. Maybe, we need something more to let it become more practical.
