I'm for silent updates! Let the product speak for itself! :)

Agreed. There doesn't need to be an event. Personally, even if they refresh the design (I hope so, but won't be disappointed if they don't), I'd like it better without an event. I think people just like an event so they'll have a specific date they can FINALLY look forward to, rather than our continued speculation :D !!

No press event = bump in spec's only.

Press event usually indicates major changes and/or redesign.

If MBP's get updated this week without any press event announced yet then unfortunately we won't likely see the MBP's redesigned, not likely to loose any weight or be thinner this time around ... maybe in the summer or fall.

It's a long shot, but it is still possible that they will hold a small event later this week or next. It is not unheard of for Apple to send out invitations for smaller events a few days ahead of time. Also, we are almost guaranteed an iPad/iOS/OSX event next month or in early April, and Apple has also held events within a month of each other before (last September and October for example).

Let me be clear though: It doesn't look like an event will happen for this MPB revision.

I don't think consumers will see an iOS and OSX event within the next month. We will most likely see these occurring at WWDC in the summer.

Possibly. I was just trying to make the point that even if an event happens next month, that doesn't necessarily mean there can't be one this month.
