So, I cannot play audio output on a Home Pod Mini from a Windows PC , not even a Mac, if I'm trying to watch a movie in Amazon, Youtube , Pandora, aural content and conversation over Microsoft Teams?

Wife wants a new portable bluetooth speaker that she can use to play audio from a Windows PC, and also use to output audio like Air Pods from her iPhone.

With HomePods the ecosystem is both an advantage and a disadvantage.
  • HomePods work work with Airplay 2. includes iPhones, iPads, AppleTVs, Apple Watches and Macs.
  • They do not work as a normal Bluetooth paired device.
  • You can connect a windows or android device using AirPlay compatible software (like Apple Music, or third party software like airfoil) and while on the same network.
  • I wouldn’t recommend AirPods if you intend to use them as your primary speakers for a computer—especially a windows laptop.
  • A current limitation with Macs is they can only connect to multiple individual AirPods, but not stereo pairs. This may change in a future software update.
So if you’re primarily and iPhone, iPad and /or Mac user and are looking for a smart speaker that sounds great, that can easily be deployed around your whole home, HomePods are a great option and a seamless experience.
