To be honest i dont care how it looks, as long as it does its job at a Festival or a long bike ride using Strava then it's a winner for me.

Yup. Agreed.

I'm getting this for my new work iPhone. I picked an SGS5 last year because of the user replaceable battery and I regretted it almost immediately. But I got stuck.

This case integrates with the device and although is not a purty purple one like the Mobi case, I'll be getting it.

I just got my work phone so I don't know how long it will last on a full charge. It hasn't got things like FB or Twitter on it, which would use up a lot of my battery. But this case will resolve the issue of why I chose the SGS5 to begin with, the replaceable battery.

Apple releases $99 iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case, Apple’s first official battery pack iPhone case

Out of the blue, Apple has today launched their first battery case, the Apple iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case for $99. The case comes in Charcoal Gray or White and is compatible with iPhone 6s or iPhone 6. The case is like the Apple Silicone Case, with the addition of a back bump for a battery. Third-party iPhone battery cases have existed for a long time, this is the first version of the product from Apple itself.

The integrated battery will increase iPhone talk time up to 25 hours and Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE (an increase of 8 hours). The battery of the Smart Case is displayed in the iOS UI, thanks to the integration between software and hardware.

The battery case includes a passthrough so you can still plug in other Lightning accessories whilst the case is in use. The product is available to pickup in Apple Stores today with delivery as early as Thursday.View attachment 604342
MOPHIE Battery cases look better. I don't like the hunchback protruding battery on that Apple case.

I don't have problems with battery life. But how come Apple comes out with a battery case and they are using a lightning port on the bottom. And you have companies like Mophie who keep using micro USB!! Kudos to Apple for doing this!!

I can't possibly imagine Jony Ive designed this thing. It's pretty un-Apple, plenty of other parties already make cases that look just like this, and work the same. There's nothing better about this one, including the design. It's a pretty odd choice.

This confirms Apple is not happy with the battery life in the 6 and 6s. Hopefully with the iPhone 7 battery life will be much better.

Why are people disappointed that there isn't a case for the larger 6 Plus and 6s Plus? They have much bigger batteries. If you find yourself charging a 6 Plus or 6s Plus during the day, you're using your phone too much. Put it down and live life a little.

Maybe it's for the customers that need or want more battery life. My 6 has plenty of battery life for me.

I would definitely buy a battery to recharge the phone and other accessories instead of using this ugly case...

So the apple case allows you to use a lightning connector which is a big plus for me. Does anyone know if the audio jack requires an extender accessory like the other battery cases out there?

Yah but do the Mophie cases integrate into iOS? I got the impression this one does. Was I incorrect?
Mophie just supplies additional power when iPhone battery levels depletes. The Mophie case is designed better than Apple's battery case. I must be missing something with the iOS integration of the Apple battery case, please let me know what that is - thanks.

This definitely feels like a prank. Looks like an iPhone 6 pregnant with an iPhone 4 in its belly. Why is it not uniform, sleek, Apple-like?

That's the best they could come up with? Even 3rd party manufacturers know to make the case as uniform as possible across the surface.
