What about the old snow dome Airport, that randomly stops working... compatible/help that?

The update worked fine on my Airport Extreme, but has killed my Airport Express. It may be a coincidence, but immediately after the update the light died and nothing so far will bring it back to life.

My Express flashed fine, and there's a minor speed bump in the wireless over here as well, so i'm guessing it wasn't the firmware update that killed your Express? Who knows.

my MacBook Pro 13 late 2011 is now pulling 25.63 mbps from my Airport Express. It's never hit those kinds of speeds before the update. Granted it's 5:35 am and no one is using the wifi right now besides me. But to get as good a speed as wired is pretty impressive.

I woke up this morning to both Airport Extremes reset to factory settings (including the names of the extremes set to the Serial Numbers). Both Airports had been left unsecured, with access to my server and RAID drives. There was also a notification of updates. That really annoyed me, and is something I find unacceptable.

Did anyone else have this problem? What caused it? It has never occurred previously.

That is very strange. never had that happen to me. Must suck to have to re-do all the wireless settings on your network.

Hmm... My Extreme does not see that there is an update... it's running 7.5.2. It's an AirPort Extreme 802.11n (3rd Generation) and no matter what I do it refuses to find the update.. I've tried from my desktop, from my iPad and iPhone.

anyone else seeing this or know how to get it to find the updates?

Software Update does not indicate that I need this update for my Apple Extreme Base Station, either. I wonder if that is correct or if something is not mentioned about what really is being updated.

it won't appear in update software. You have to go into Airport Utility and the update notice will appear there.

Fixes Broadcast Traffic WiFi-to-Ethernet

Cool.

I've got a DHCP and DNS server running on an old G4 Mac Mini over Ethernet, with most clients connecting using Wifi -- all via an 802.11n Airport Extreme (1st gen).

7.5 had a nasty bug where broadcast traffic wouldn't travel between the Extreme's Ethernet and Wifi connections. So, WiFi machines couldn't obtain an IP address from the wired Mac Mini.

All worked fine with 7.4, so that's what I've been using. 7.6 doesn't have the issue either, so it's nice to finally be able to upgrade!

I had an issue with the 7.5 update that I could not use static IP's, they were always forgotten and the network broke. I dont have an address in the default 192.168.1.1 range, but in a different 192.168.x.x range.

Is this bug fixed ?
