Aperture 3 has got to be one of the buggiest new software releases from Apple in a while.

Really hoping the iPad's shipping version of 3.2 does not suffer similarly.

Mobile me...

They should test more and longer or release beta's

I'm still having the same old bugs with iMovie. Changing the playback speed (turtle and rabit) on a clip that is usually over 30 seconds will cause the video to not play back anymore. I have to delete the project, restart imovie, and if I get lucky my other projects will still play.

The apple support forums have been full of other issues similar to this one, but apple isn't addressing them with their updates. Does this mean a new iLife could be on its way, and that's where their resources are being spent?

Check out these forum and Apple forums; I believe you have to delete a pref file or something with the trial for it to update. What ever it was, it worked for me.

Thanks, but i already tried that. It seemed to work for most people, but not me. Oh well. I'll use Aperture 2 i guess.

i think you were the only one.

Ap3 is wokring MUCH better for me as well, with about 90,000 referenced (mostly RAW) images. Never had a crash, and it runs far faster than Ap2. I do have a Mac Pro with 18GB / 3.3 TB, but I had the same setup with the far more sluggish Ap2 as well.

The question is why we all are having such different experiences. One thing I suspect is that Aperture has real problems with what it understands as "corrupt" images. There are many threads about people trying to uncover these, but with large numbers of photos it is a real pain. Maybe one thing the software will have to include, inthe future, is a way to automatically "tag" these images and move them into a special folder, much like virus protection software does. Then the user could easily experiment to see if they really are corrupt...

i think you were the only one.

3.0.0 worked well for me as well, although I didn't really put a lot of use against it until after 3.0.1 was out (3.0.0 had just a "toy" library against it; 3.0.1 got my entire 250GB library).

Hrmph. New update, new bugs. Suddenly many of my images appear dark and undersaturated-- almost like an antiquing effect were applied. Previews are fine, but as soon as the "loading" spinner finishes, the images go dark.

Not all, for some reason, but many. I'm starting to get concerned that my library is unrepairably corrupt.

Edit: freaking bizarre, no rhyme or reason. Two shots taken by the same camera, same settings, literally by holding the shutter down in continuous shooting mode-- one displays bright and vibrant, the other looks like it was taken after dusk. Exporting the master appears to be ok, so I'm hoping this is just in the Aperture display system. Means I still can't use A3 on a day-to-day though...
