Same. I can no longer use the Siri remote to adjust volume on my HiSense U8G. This was never a problem before the firmware update. I tried holding down the volume up + home button as mentioned above but it didn’t work. The light dot on the Apple TV device itself does blink when I press the volume buttons, but no response. Interestingly, when I try using the remote in the Control Center on iPhone, the volume icon on the top left is grayed out.

In my case, I suspected the problem was that the TV had suddenly stopped accepting volume commands from third-party sources given that it wasn't only the Siri Remote that wasn't working, but the iPhone's remote app (which you access through the Control Center) had all volume functions grayed out as well.

I ultimately fixed the problem by unplugging both the TV and Apple TV for a couple of minutes while disconnecting the HDMI cable at both ends (simply restarting the TV hadn't helped). After reconnecting everything, the Siri Remote now works; however, the volume controls on the iPhone (which I hardly ever use anyway) are still grayed out.

After the firmware update, I had the problem of the volume buttons not controlling my TV. A restart of the remote (home and volume down buttons held together) resolved it.

Just went all thru this thread, and hopefully I haven't just missed/overlooked it, but now that we are a few weeks out since the release of this update, do we know anymore on specifically what this update does or addresses?

THIS FIXED IT FOR ME. Reseting instructions on Apples website didn’t help me but this did

My IR functionality stopped working with my AV amp out of the blue it stopped being able to change the volume. I went through the setup and it still doesn’t work. Tried the older remote and it works fine. I wonder if this update caused this. It seemed to happen around the release time.

I wonder when Apple will fix this issue, that I have to reset my remote now and then to get volume control to work again to my pre pro.

Had to reset it again today using V/Control Center button

and the Volume Down button

for about 5 seconds.

It worked fine again after the remote was reconnected.
