Apple Releases First Beta of iOS 11.4 for Public Beta Testers

How come? Mind developing this a bit further? I’ve never had this problem and I use betas since the very beginning of the public beta program.

If you call for  support or stop at the Genius Bar with Beta software  will not help you. So in my case I only install Beta software on my older devices that are not under Appkecare coverage,

Anyone having an issue w/ group texting in this release? My friends and I change the name of our group text every few weeks, and its suddenly brining up the old names and conversations. Very odd.

They might not help you and might ask you to revert to a public release before they provide assistance, but in plenty of instances they will help you just the same as if you weren't running a beta.

For those who are testing it, could you please let me know if any changes are being made to the file system?

To be more specific, the way files are handled when they are being opened for editing is really frustrating. I work files will open in their respective apps and the file will remain in the same folder on iCloud. I can edit and the file is automatically saved and stored in the exact same spot from which it was opened.

But when I open and try to edit an Excel file, for example, iOS wants me to copy that file into Excel and then I have to go back and save it where it was before. Is this being changed?

It drives me mildly insane. I wish it would work the same way it works on a Mac.

My experience has been when  finds Beta software they request that you back off to a production version and demonstrate that you still have the problem. I have encounted this at two  Stores as well as the AppleCare help line.

There’s an annoying bug with the Music app. When I play a playlist, the song are played randomly even if I tap a song or the play button on top of the first song. iPhone 6 upgraded to 11.4 public beta from an 11.3 DFUed.

EDIT: same thing when I play an album.
