Apple Releases First Betas of iOS 18.2 and More With Genmoji, Image Playground and ChatGPT Integration

Have a weird issue with 18.2. I’m unable to type in to Siri from the Home Screen while in airplane mode. It tells me “YOU MUST BE ONLINE FOR THIS”.

figured out it will work if I’m on Wifi and airplane mode off and cellular data off too. (I exclusively use WiFi for everything when I’me home)

Quick feedback of 18.2 Beta 1:

- The ChatGPT integration with Siri asks you to use ChatGPT every time if it needs. So annoying! Why can’t it just go straight to ChatGPT if Siri needs?

- Siri doesn’t read the output from ChatGPT, just displays the text. So annoying!

They NEED to fix these two things before launching 18.2.

Have you tried turning off Confirm ChatGPT Requests in settings?

I'm starting to think they gave access to "premium" testers maybe? Youtubers, SM people and so on to get some buzz going on about the release (since 18.1 is fairly boring tbh) but not enough accounts to make it "riskful" that they get some crazy requestes or people trying to break it right from the start

How is Visual Intelligence supposed to work? I keep pressing the camera button on my 16 Pro Max and pointing it at things, but it does nothing other than act like a camera.

Visual Intelligence showed for me after a reboot of my phone.

You can go to settings to turn off Siri asking all the time. Go to Apple I telligence and go towards the bottom.

As for Siri speaking…they should Sedona have an option to have either. I figure they will. It’s Beta 1

My phone is running like crap after this update. Scrolling looks terrible and the phone seems slow and jittery. 16 pro max.

Yes, we do. It’s our language and, quite frankly, US English is ugly.

As of right now, the betas are limited to developers who have a device capable of Apple Intelligence,

Strange choice given that they include non-Apple Intelligence-related features, and if I'm not mistaken, there still aren't (new) developer APIs for Apple Intelligence anyway.

So it seems mostly just "we want to roll this out to a smaller crowd for now", perhaps to gauge server load.

Writing tools, Visual Intelligence, and Magic Wand are the most useful features. The other “AI” features seem directed at the younger audience. How many people are excited by GenMoji and Image Playground?

Oh, thanks for the info! I run all the betas, the worst beta in memory was ios 7. This one is ok actually, phone just feels over taxed for some reason.

I am well aware, been on beta's since the beginning. It's funny how when someone reports an issue with the beta y'all are just like, "It's beta what do you expect?" We know that so you don't need to be redundant. I am simply reporting my experience with said beta.

hi all im in Northern Ireland uk ,but the option to use uk English is not showing after I switch over from us English which is alowing me to use apple intelligence ,im im thinking its because im near an eu state

Siri - on my Mac - has stopped working all together. Possibly because it's downloading all the new 15.2 stuff... he said hopefully...

Siri still works fine on my iPhone (18.1 beta) and Apple Watch (11.0.1), so I hope it's the downloading and not me having killed computer Siri...

Siri was still out on my MacBook Air, after over 18 hours.

So I set preferred language and Siri language back to English (US) - after changing it to English (UK) after upgrading to 15.2 - and now the "Siri is downloading" message went away instantly, and Siri started working again.

That is working and working, she seems even more stupid... when I asked her to tell a joke (goto test case) siri had to ask ChatGPT.

Siri on my iPhone don't have to resort to ChatGPT to tell a (cheesy) joke...

Anybody still having trouble logging into ChatGPT? I can’t log in on the website, app, or through settings. Didn’t have a problem at all on my iPad. Guessing my phone is being limited and it’ll let me sign in later today.

Or people that have used the Feedback app to provide lots of feedback on the already released features?
