Live activity chronometer is back?? (Dynamic Island chronometer)

Yep. 🖐️

Yes, they 100% should do exactly that.. as long as it doesn't allow a naive end-user to break functionality. Example: black text on a black background... thus rendering it unreadable. Or, turning off/on system level functionality. Otherwise, if people buy it, let them mod it to their heart's content as long as it doesn't cause damage / loss for the user or Apple.
Enabling it for the user is, IMO, the best compromise.

The further we go, the more tech-savvy the population get, so enabling more flexibility is the right choice...

Changing topic...

Does the send later feature work if the device is offline when the message should get delivered?

UK, 15 pro max updated to developer beta 3.2 which became public beta:

- no transcription in Notes for voice messages (I couldn't see it in DB 2 and 3)
- no RCS although Three UK supports it
- no Recovered Album in Photos

any clues guys?

I always do. I use Dev then switch to Public beta. Apple Watch is on public beta as well now.

I have to be honest, it doesn't feel anything like an early beta. All my apps work, phone is smooth, and everything works fine.
I always do the same as well. The only major glitches (which really aren't that bad) that I've had with DB3 are that the keyboard sometimes acts funny and autofills a word, but then adds whatever letter I was typing to the end. The other glitch is that sometimes my recent call history disappears. Restarting the phone fixes that. I would assume those glitches are still present in the PB. Otherwise it has been remarkably reliable for me.

there’s one thing I would really appreciate Apple add to an app. The countdown timer. I would love to see they add that it starts counting how long since it finished the countdown. There! A great idea and Apple can contact me how they’ll pay me ☺️

I don’t care one iota what other people’s devices look like. But I can dislike poor design decisions like this, or the Pontiac Aztec, for example. Both examples of companies signing off on poorly designed products.
Whatever you say. If you don't care about others devices it shouldn't bother you since you don't have to use it, but here we are...

I am too. But then before I click the install button I realize that there’s no “gotta have it feature” on ios18 that supersedes the risk of breaking apps, worsening battery life, destabilizing the os, etc…So I wait 🙃

This is my thought process as well. I’m tempted to install it on my 15 Pro, but then I realize I’ll try it out for a day or two, and then I‘ll revert back to iOS 17.

From what I've read here and few other places, I'm going to wait for the next PB before updating. Mine will be on my one and only device so can't risk any major glitches.

Hey! Are your banking apps working?

Check this thread:

The current beta does not seem to have any major glitches, judging from my personal experience and the lack of major online complaints. However, there is no guarantee that it will be a smooth ride all the way until iOS 18 is released to everybody in the autumn/fall. FWIW, I have it running right now on my main devices and my only possible complaint could be the battery life. Otherwise it is a great beta for my regular usage.

Anyone in Australia seeing the RCS toggle? I've been holding out for this feature for years - partner uses Android, and texting them just seems so clunky.
As of right now, I think the RCS toggle is only showing up for select carriers in the US and Canada

That may change though as we go through the betas and then eventually to the final release

That being said though, it'll be on your respective carrier to implement RCS; even here for me in the US, not all carriers support it still as of yet

Installed last night…I’ve been doing public beta for at least the past 6 or so releases. For me, this is the most solid first beta I have seen. Not one app has glitched. Battery life is the same. Beyond expectations. Granted, there aren’t really that many features yet. But still.

Tried it on Mini 6, surprisingly stable so I gave the M4 a shot as well. For first PB very well done. Incremental but nice updates (widgets, CC). The bigger icons w/o the app name are nice and well overdue — but the spacing between apps is too large in the more spacious iPadOS design, making the grid more compact would be a better option

This is pretty much the same os customization is still basic the widgets
Should be scrollable but they are not. the only real feature they bringing is Ai to upgrade Siri. Siri have got a lil better but still needs major improvements also they focus to much on the visual aspect of the os entirely to much the functionality is the same to me
