The current beta does not seem to have any major glitches, judging from my personal experience and the lack of major online complaints. However, there is no guarantee that it will be a smooth ride all the way until iOS 18 is released to everybody in the autumn/fall. FWIW, I have it running right now on my main devices and my only possible complaint could be the battery life. Otherwise it is a great beta for my regular usage.
Stop it! I'd convinced myself to wait till the next update. You're making me change my mind 😂

I'm having a wonky situation with iPad OS 18 Beta.
It's a huge pain to return to iPad OS 17.
Piece of cake with a Chromebook. Powerwash.
Can easily go backwards.

This is my thought process as well. I’m tempted to install it on my 15 Pro, but then I realize I’ll try it out for a day or two, and then I‘ll revert back to iOS 17.
I’m guessing you’ll be fine, and will leave it on the beta. I’m too lazy to go through the process of backing up, installing, and then reverting to backup. These things used to excite me, and they still do to some extent, but I’m getting old and less inclided to fiddle with things! Good luck, and let us know how the 15 pro runs after install.

Installed the Public Beta on my M1 iPad Pro 11 and working really well. Haven't run into any hard glitches yet. Seems pretty stable. So far my favorite iPad OS update.

And, I really like the tinted icons. A lot easier than making shortcuts to a ton of individual icons...imho.

What’s your issue? My Air 5 seems to like it.
I've only spent a little time with it but websites are not responding well or Chrome is closing for no obvious reason.
Another issue is how involved rolling back to iPad OS 17 is.
Yes, the Chrome browser, as I've said before, I have Android and Windows without Safari.

Yes, some third party apps might take a while to catch up.

I am too. But then before I click the install button I realize that there’s no “gotta have it feature” on ios18 that supersedes the risk of breaking apps, worsening battery life, destabilizing the os, etc…So I wait 🙃
RCS comes close...

Is it somewhat ok for my main device? (13 mini). Don’t mind a glitch here and there but my battery life is already not great…

I am not updating to the beta on my 13PM. It’s not getting some of the most exciting features of iOS 18. I did update my M1 iPad Pro 11 to iPad OS 18 public beta. It will get everything 18 has to offer, and I am loving it. I haven’t found any major flaws. My battery life is fine…hasn’t changed for the better or worse. Going to keep it.

Math notes is really cool. I like what they did with the Photos app. All the core/native apps got some nice updates across the board. The ability to customize the appearance, and even customize and automate a host of functions.

Looking forward to what they are doing to Siri….and all the AI integration. Being able to naturally talk to my iPad and other devices will really be

ing for me. I’m an old Trekkie

Is SIRI's level of competency the same as in iOS 17? Any improvement at all?
(I'm not talking about Apple Intelligence)

("Look what I found on the web" 🤢)

Installed the beta and the only thing that seems a bit slow is mail, it seems to be taking longer to download mail. In the 17.6 beta mail would show up automatically whereas with this beta, it will show I have mail and I have to open the mail app and then it downloads a whole bunch of my email. My email settings haven’t changed from the prior beta to the current 18 beta. Otherwise it’s been a nice smooth experience

Tried to install iOS 18 public beta on 13" M4 iPad, didn't go well, it Bricked the iPad. Wouldn't start up again no matter what I did, had to take it into Apple, after running tests they gave me a new iPad. Put me off installing betas for now on.

I installed Developer Beta 3.2 this morning. So far so good. I hope we wont have to wait until September to see some of the Apple Intelligence features. No Beta update for WatchOS 11 yet.
You won’t. You will be waiting until next April.

Bologna! @Jaisah is right. Official release date is later this Fall.

"Apple will release Apple Intelligence publicly to all users this fall as part of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and iPadOS 18.

AI features might be saved for iOS 18.1 rather than the 18.0 release, but either way, fall is the official release date. If Apple Intelligence makes it into the initial iOS 18 release, that means a September launch, but if not it could be October or even November."

UK, 15 pro max updated to developer beta 3.2 which became public beta:

- no transcription in Notes for voice messages (I couldn't see it in DB 2 and 3)
- no RCS although Three UK supports it
- no Recovered Album in Photos

any clues guys?
Well du UK had to exit the EU, so aoole is not firced by ey regs to enable RCS in the UK, swingsxand rounabouts

For transcription to work in Notee, the device needs to be set to English US language, not English UK

Still no RCS for Three UK or Recovered Album in the UK
