I was on dev beta 4 (the first version of it) and the battery drain was too extreme for my liking (don’t attack me with “it’s a beta”). 16 pro here and noticed stuttering navigating the phone as well.

Submitted feedback that random icons in folders on the Home Screen may change from dark to light version and vice versa when opening/closing the folder. Also the keyboard will change from white to black/black to white as well.

The liquid glass wasn’t bad reading text in notifications and such so that’s a plus.

Rolled back to 18.5 and things are smooth again. If you do decide to test it out may the odds be ever in your favor!

Same on my iPad

I shift from dev to public beta when the public ones drop, the long running reality is dev beta 4 has always been public beta 1, but I got a notification for a new update on the dev channel on my phone and iPad. Switched them to Public Beta, and the update shows up again but without a version number. I'm curious what if anything has changed since the release on Tuesday and if they'll get a new build number. There's no new IPSW on the Apple Beta downloads page for this new update that's appearing OTA, at least not yet, so I can't run the update on the iPad (it has a 32GB drive so I install system updates by flashing it with the IPSW).

Is it stable enough to download? I’m tempted to try it out
iPad Developer Beta 4 is quirky as all get out, but functionally stable so far. Been running all day and the only thing I noticed is that one website keeps getting logged out. Music playback isn’t even stuttering, which has been a problem on mainline MacOS for me lately.

So now that the public and developer betas are out... what is the difference? Or do we just not know?

Downloading on my iPad rather than my phone. When the actual release comes out in September, is it easy to come off beta onto the public release?
