Considering jailbreaks are exploits I hope they patch it and soon.

If it's an exploit that only works on an authenticated device over USB, then I'm not worried.

That seems to be the case here. It's not like that old "Slide to jailbreak" one that was scary as all hell, even if useful. :)

You mean Apple Developer Center? Maybe I'm just assuming the people installing these betas actually have paid dev accounts.

Oh wait.

Doesn't matter. It's the same file anyways. I don't know if this person has a dev account or not, however, since they didn't know it's possible to downgrade from a beta to a stable release, it's safe to assume they don't.

"Devices updated to iOS 8.1.1 beta can not [sic] be restored to earlier versions of iOS."

Really? You can't go back to 8.1 after installing a beta?! Man, that's encouraging. /s

You can go back. But once your phones backup is made for 8.1.1 you can't use that back up if you go back to 8.1. This is the same as it always has been for betas

Considering jailbreaks are exploits I hope they patch it and soon.

Some of the exploits used in the 8.x jailbreak were already "patched". And jailbreaking is a concious decision, not a flaw in security. Hell, with this jailbreak you can't just pick up a random device and jailbreak it. You have to disable passcode, Touch ID, and find my iPhone.

Every time I see that 8 logo with the orange and the gradient, I can't help but have a flashback to this.

Enough with the douchey split screen multitasking predictions. Developers are busy adding support for larger screens and other ios 8 features. They will NOT be asked to add multitasking support until iOS 9.

I don't have this problem, I suspect you have faulty hardware.

I've had this problem on my 6 a few times, and it's a strange one. While listening to music the volume is slightly turned down when a notification occurs but with this bug the volume stays at the lower volume. The only fix I've found is playing music on the speaker and then switching back to the headphones. Occurred to me using Apple Earbuds, Skullcandy 50-50s, and Skullcandy Ink'd2

Considering jailbreaks are exploits I hope they patch it and soon.

If the JB only works over USB and after you've chosen to trust the computer on the other side, then there is little chance that this will be exploited by anyone but yourself. And in fact, jailbreaking your device sometimes gives you access to other security fixes before Apple's release schedule has caught up.

I came here to see if the JB still works, but since I can't find the answer either here or on reddit I might as well perform some primary research. Bye bye 7.1.2... :'(

I hope they figure out how to fix the ongoing issue with keyboard shortcuts intermittently syncing, not syncing or disappearing altogether.

This seems to be a bug they keep squashing after numerous bug fixes, only to re-introduce it with the next major release.

Wow, has their ever been a x.x.1 beta release before?

I wonder if Apple is finally realizing that testing is a good thing.

I believe iOS 5.0.1 had a couple of beta releases.

Although the main "feature" of that release related to how iCloud data was dealt with in apps so it made sense to allow devs to test against it.

Apple has learned! (to start x.x.1 beta releases).
Let's see how long this lasts...

I know of one bug that was fixed:
Turn off transparency.
Use spotlight.
Notice how typing on the keys produces transparent keys.

Fixed now.

There is a bug that exists on iOS 8.1 that is still not fixed in 8.1.1.
I have a ton of Macrumors notifications in my inbox. I tried to delete over a 100 messages and the app crashes.

Hope they can fix the activation issue on the iPhone 6 for iMessage. It is a real pain in the ass at the moment. Biggest regret since I got me iPhone 4S two days before the launch of the 5

Is anyone having a issue with call forwarding? I have Att and when I go to turn on call forwarding now it goes to a screen that says loading with the keyboard and nothing loads but you can delete the word loading. Frustrating.

Any developer who has updated their Apple TV, could you please let me know if the AirPlay function has started working again after the Apple TV goes to sleep?

7.0.1 has a bug where when the Apple TV goes to sleep, AirPlay dissapear's :(

I hope this fixes the wifi problem.

I hope this fixes the battery problem.

I hope this fixes the bending iphone 6 problem.

Safari feels snappier.

You're welcome everyone.

I'm burning through lte data because my iPhone 6 plus has wifi issues

I didn't have this issue with the iPhone 5 :(

The threat of flaws exploited by jailbreaks isn't that somebody might jailbreak your phone. That's a bit like robbers using an unlocked door to enter your house and cook dinner.

I have another for the iPad

1. Go to Safari address bar and type in a word.
2. Select it and hit define.
3. Click anwhere not in the little window.
4. Crash

I hope this fixes text selection and copy/paste, especially in Safari. Very painful right now.
