Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming iOS 9.2.1 update to its public beta testers, with the software being made available just a day after the first developer beta of iOS 9.2.1 launched. The iOS 9.2.1 beta comes a week and a half after the public release of iOS 9.2, the second major update to iOS 9.

Beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program will receive the iOS 9.2.1 update over-the-air after installing the proper certificates.

Those who want to be a part of Apple's beta testing program can sign up to participate on the company's beta testing website, which gives users access to both iOS and OS X betas.

The first developer beta of iOS 9.2.1 revealed no significant outward-facing changes, suggesting iOS 9.2.1 is a minor update that will focus on under-the-hood performance improvements and bug fixes to address issues discovered since the release of iOS 9.2.

No one has found ANY fixes?

Do downloads finish? I've seen so many app updates fail and even iCloud restores fail because downloads never finish. They sometimes won't start, sometimes start then never finish, something finish downloading but never finish installing.

What about missing icons on the Updates page in the App Store? This has been busted since iOS 8.3 or so.

What about changes to Apple Music? I get so many "An Error Occurred" screens that I could scream. I have to force-close and re-open the app to get it actually load.

I don't understand how Apple can allow so many issues to persist from release to release.

interesting scare. no phone audio after update but if changed to speaker I could hear but very choppy and fading in and out. Not really distinguishable. Reboot seems to have solved the issue for now. Verizon is carrier.

I wish they would fix the pull up options. Turning on the low power mode takes 3 clicks, and with 'Hey Siri' you can just tell it to set a timer. You can have siri also switch to lower power mode, but for those of us who don't want to speak that. Also the camera option is pretty pointless, and think the wallet access should replace the camera option, since sometimes the wallet has more than just apple pay, boarding passes, rewards cards (walgreens/etc.). Sometimes the wallet is lost in home screen area, while you can access the camera from the lock screen aside from the app which its icon is more distinguishable than the wallet.

Honestly why do they release Public Betas? So far i had only one reply for a specific carrier issue. Some other bugs have been around since 9.0 PB1 or even iOS8. They might have a low priority, because they are no showstoppers, but i wonder why they don't get fixed.

I have been on the public beta since it came out and have provided tons of feedback and crash reports. I have never heard from Apple. But it says so right there in the fine print we never read -- they take your feedback but will not respond directly to you as it is way too many.

My guess is that they catalog and categorize all the feedback. Then the prioritize on each category based on number of times its reported. At least this is how I do it with my team. If correct, then your concerns are in a low category and/or not too many people are complaining.

BTW - I downloaded the new beta and it crashed back to back three straight times until I was able to clear out all the apps in the app switcher. Now things have stabilized.

You do realize you can double tap home button while locked to pull up wallet yes? So no need for it in CC really.

Does it address the "Cannot Get Mail" Gmail issue?
Not sure there is an issue to address. I use 2 gmail accts and never have any issues with either of them. Maybe how you have it setup? Or maybe delete and re-setup would help?

I have received a couple responses for only a handful of feedback submissions. Contacts search bug was one of them and it was fixed. So they do respond sometimes but not necessarily always.

I like testing these out, but I've heard nothing but bad things about beta 1 so far, so I'm a little on the edge about downloading it. Seen some videos saying the stability is terrible compared to 9.2 (yes I realize it's a beta and they aren't always as stable, but seriously the results I have seen are crap). May be waiting a couple weeks to wait and see.

Totally off topic, but I've got to say this: DON'T HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEOS ON AUTOPLAY ON YOUR HOMEPAGE UNLESS THEY'RE AUTOMATICALLY MUTED!!!!!!

Pretty please.

Running 9.2.1 PB on a 6s and an original iPad mini.

I had tons of wifi issues in 9.2 with both devices ranging from delayed connections to 5Ghz networks vs. 2.4 and general spotty consistency within 30ft of the access point. Both issues seem to be resolved with instant connection upon boot and wifi power cycle.

The iPad seems snappier compared to 9.2 (still fairly laggy but easily .5 seconds faster per task.)

App updates that seemed to hang without installing have repaired themselves (had two broke apps before update) after 9.2.1 update run and seem normal.

Finally (and this may be AT&T specific or related to the aforementioned wifi issues I expierenced in 9.2) the wifi calling seems to ring and connect much quicker on all devices with Num-Sync enabled compared to before.

Seems like a pretty good beta thus far

Tim Cook's quality control must be very very low which is quite pathetic, I've reported the App Store update icons back in 9.0 and it was meant to be fixed in 9.1 but it's still a problem...

Well now, you're just bragging because they responded to you and I am just jealous because you're special and I'm not.

- Yes, but there are other redundant shortcuts. the camera in there doesn't need to be there anymore.

It's not redundant unless you're on the lockscreen. People use the camera more than Wallet.

I have the same intermittent issue with my gmail account. I have deleted and set up the account numerous times. It may be an Apple issue or it may be a gmail issue. I really have no idea. But it's definitely an issue.
