So far, Microsoft Remote Desktop app crashes constantly. Completely unusable. Also not able to get Airplay to work in Apple Music.

I'm on Big Sur 11.5 public beta and noticed that Software Update is pushing me Monterey PB. Is there some way to skip Monterey betas and stick with Big Sur betas only?

Yes, Just click "More Info"

Hide IP address in Safari isn't working good for me. It keeps stopping and I lose all access to the net in Safari.

Meh. Monterey still has the same terrible Finder window layout/appearance as Big Sur, which has a less efficient use of space compared to Catalina. I'll be sticking with Catalina.

Monterey Public Beta. Version12.0 (21A5268h)

Preview.app V11.0 (1030). When opening pdf files the text is gobbledegook.

When opened in adobe the text is fine?

Anyone else seen this?

Well, I tried this Public Beta and after an evening with it I am now on Big Sur again. The Secrets password manager didn't work and Music had misaligned play / pause buttons.

Would it hurt just adding a button with just a little gradient on?? So darn bland, just like Big Sur and I think it hurts macOS' image more than Apple realizes. I'll continue to use macOS, because I have seen what the competition has to offer. And it ain't pretty.

With Monterey PB now on my venerable 13" 2015 MBP, I now have all the PBs across my devices, so I'll put my two cents in here:

  1. Monterey: runs well, a shame this aging wonder child doesn't get the newer features, but will wait until the fall to try them out on my M1 Air and Mini. Safari will take some getting used to. I LOVE tab groups in chrome, but it needs a little work here, or just some getting used to. I like the cleaner look, but then again, I didn't have an issue with the old safari. All in all not loving the new safari entirely.......YET.
  2. iOS 15: Not much to see here, folks. Notifications look cleaner, and I like the focus stuff once I get it set up the way I like, but nothing here to warrant a new release.
  3. iPadOS 15: running on my mini 5. Widgets are cool.....I guess but I never got into them. I have them, they're there, but they don't do anything for me except the news widget. As with iOS, I like the focused notifications and the expansion of focus and DND. Agree with others that this OS of all of them needed.....more.
  4. Watch OS8: is there anything new? Anyone? It runs well, in fact, dare I say a slight improvement in battery life on my 6? The notifications, again, look different, and I guess cleaner, but that's about it.
  5. TVOS 15: LOVE the fact that it finally gets spacial audio, for that alone I'm happy. Have the beta running on my 2021 4K ATV in the bedroom and using it with APP is a wonderful experience.
All told, none of these updates are anything to write home about. They run well, even on my 11PM daily driver, but.....meh. Then again, what else can they do?

I’m new here. Totally enjoying the discussions going on here. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😎

Nope - works fine for me👍

Interesting. I have found the second beta a bit buggier than the first.
I've had that happen on Beta's on other OS versions. I keep reminding myself not to "dive" into the beta "pool". Then I do, and then slap myself silly  But we all owe a big thank you to those that do!

Agree but this is the “fix” for Big Sur so I needed to get it

Big sur runs better than Catalina on my mid 2012. There is no performance reason for support to have been cut off.
Apple wants all features can be used and runs quite smooth. Otherwise if the Mac is old, or need more support, will become unsupported but as you can see, expert user can run it without big issue, Apple is not blocking it in any elaborate way, but for common users this is simple and better. Believe me I work in support since 15 years, standard users are not the one who write here.
