Problem is not that they redesigned it, problem is how they redesigned it, with seemingly infinite vertical scrolling and controls that are clearly optimized for touch, which can only mean 2 things: touch screens are coming to Macs soon or reusing assets (laziness, cheaping out and inconsideration), you know… “it’s good enough”. Once upon a time “it’s good enough” wasn’t accepted answer at Apple, but alas…

Or maybe a third option, an imagined priority that things need to be the same across devices. New solutions to non-problems (ios7, cough, cough). As in, how did users ever manage before? 😳

Beavers build dams, birds fly, designers design. Sometimes designers don’t know when to put the pencil down.

It is designed for iPhone. Get used to it. macOS will eventually be iOS, with all of its limitations. Can't you see the handwriting on the wall.
So, Windows 8 all over again? The point is that it shouldn't be designed for iPhone because it isn't an iPhone. Having a unified OS front end is and always has been a dumb idea. Different platforms have different capabilities and the User Interface should cater to the strengths of that specific platform. Having a unified architecture under the hood, is a good thing though, and it does make sense to borrow some design queues to make it easy to transition back and forth, but they need to be designed to be the best for the device it's on and not some other device.

why do you think they would use alphabetical order since they do not use it in ios Setup for apple apps.
because they could recognize the error and fix it, especially if you use Finder->Help->Finder Feedback and file a polite complaint.

Not if your CEO only cares about cost savings and not the brand.

Why concentrate on updating Mac OS when Apple don’t have a 27 iMac to run it on and who cares about emojis some of use computers professionally

This isn't new by any stretch so maybe I shouldn't post it here, but why do my Mail message windows open all over the place on my screen? Sometimes down there, sometimes up there. I want them where I place them, and then want subsequent ones there, too.

I've tried moving all the open message windows in a pile where I want them then quitting. It works for a bit, then another email will open somewhere else entirely, covering stuff I don't want covered.
