Curious to see what they’ve done to Wallet. It’s such a mess when you have multiple cards. Apple Pay card on top, then the others underneath it, but if an app has multiple cards, sometimes they go next to each other. I tried explaining the UI to some senior family members and it was pointless. They couldn’t figure out how to use it. So they want paper tickets when flying as they don’t trust their phone wallet.

I spend much longer than I should arranging my icons just so and then they change one of them. Hmphh.

That should play well in non-English speaking countries where the word for “news” doesn’t start with an “N.”

It won’t matter. The name of the app would still be localised (whenever the service comes to a non-English speaking country) and non-English speaking countries are used to this sort of thing to the point you don’t even notice it. And it’s not really an obvious N.

Build 16E5212f on an iPhone X, approx 392MB iirc. No issues so far for me on the beta, especially with battery life.

This morning noticed WiFi calling was off. The update was applied last night. I shutdown phone and restarted it to get it back. Once 12.2 is done, I’m probably done with betas too.

I noticed that when using bluetooth for my car radio, Apple Music now starts off where I left off last time. In the previous Beta, it would start at the first song on my library! That was frustrating. Thanks Apple for fixing.

What would be a great feature to have is to be able to delete unwanted emojis. This way I can get rid of all Apple's crappy emojies, but it probably will never happen.

Still no sign of EKG on Apple Watch in Canada.Thought 12.2 would be the time for it to be enabled. Would have thought it would be here now. I'll be rather disappointed if Apple Watch 5 comes out with that feature still not enabled. I would have probably stuck with my Apple Watch 3.

Whoever designed the actual Apple TV remote should be taken out to the center of the Apple Campus and slapped silly with it. Worst design ever. No one can honestly say they have never mistakenly picked it up in the dark accidentally pushing the wrong buttons during a movie.
I’m afraid to even move when I don’t know where the remote is for fear of brushing the touch pad and changing the channel or some other action. Every day I wish to “talk” to the designer.
I’d use a universal remote, but the Apple remote is the only one with a Siri button, which I do use.

Same here, I have a Harmony remote for everything else but I use the Apple remote for siri especially for music hooked to my stereo.

Until you hear it has been approved by your gov't, it most likely will not show up on any updates.

If the AppleTV is going to be reconceptualized, why would the new icon be the old remote design?

Because the number and layout of buttons on the remote is one of the things they got right and would be carried forward to the next generation.

You can turn off the Emoji keyboard. It’s completely optional.

Thanks bud, but I use some emojis. I would love to delete about 50% of them and keep the rest.

Depending on how many you use, you can customize keyboard shortcuts for the ones you do use. iOS can automatically replace *SF* with :) for example.

That said, I do think Apple has been replacing Emojis with a new simpler system and they’ve been doing it in plain sight. Animoji has the potential to replace emoji. Instead of an emoji for every expression, for every animal and for every possible gender/skin colour combination, you could have 1 Animoji that has endless expressions and mirrors your real world reaction with the True Depth camera.

Beyond the animals and other characters that they’ve been adding, the next obvious step would be the yellow smiley character. They already started it on Apple Watch with a single emoji that’s modifiable:

yellow-smiley-tongue-animated-emoji-watchos-emojipedia.gif
yellow-smiley-crying-animated-emoji-watchos-emojipedia.gif

I’d like to see recommended Animoji show up in the prediction bar of the keyboard rather than Emoji as you type.
