- Siri confirmation tone will now play to indicate when smart home requests are completed for accessories that may not visibly show a change or are located in a different room
If this makes my HomePod Minis just ding like Echo's do when you make a request, it'll make me so happy - I've been hating getting loud verbal responses to turning lights on and off ever since I changed to Siri.

Mine took about 35 mins to calibrate before it showed any temperature
Mine took a while too, now showing both, but also showing accessory not responding for temperature sensor when you tap it and the whole HomePod. Also in HomePod settings it says timers/alarms not available as not on the same network, but they are, never had issue like this before.

I did the update on my two mini, and all my devices are on 16.3, but nothing showed up. The only thing that I have not seen that has been addressed is: I have two min paired as stereo pair, is that setup still works with active the sensors?
I restarted my mini, it showed up now, however, it only showed one of paired mini sensors. I will wait for a bit to see if the other will show up, or for stereo pair, it will only show one of them…..

Sorry to report bad news, but it's all vocal. Hate it. Wish it were at least optional. Get it all the time on my iPhone too, for Home requests. "The table light is on!!!!!" Shut up about it.

UPDATE 1/25: Suddenly (with no new downloads), it's just confirming with a subtle ding. Awesome. SO much better.

nice update. i could install 16.3 on my homepod mini. temp and humidity are fine for my usage. better than eve room (useless for me because it cannot control eve thermo).

my thoughts are:
is it possible to go one step further and implement/simulate a door or window open sensor?

homepod has mics, and perhaps its possible to trigger streetnoise when a window is open. what do you think guys?

When auto updates kick in and all my HomePods are updating throughout my home, right in the middle of a massive lightning storm….all I want to do is unplug them…I’m freaking out!

Hmm, that's odd - I've just updated my three and tried turning the living room light on from the bedroom and vice versa and only got a ding tone. Are yours all updated?

Same here, I get a ding ding sound after Siri completes a home command. I did upgrade to the new Home architecture last month before it was pulled. Maybe that makes a difference?

Please tell me there is a fix for HomePod1’s popping sound. Annoying as hell.
Huuuh. I have the exact same thing and I thought the HomePod is broken.
Not glad to hear it happens to you but I am glad to hear I am not alone.

For me it happens only on 1 HomePods in a stere pair.

that's the sound one of my HomePods made before it died. Unfortunately it was past its warranty period
Oh nooo.
I also have a pair, one of them is doing this popping since half year.
How long it took before it died since the popping appeared?

Thanks! I was worried… I've been waiting for 20 minutes, still nothing. it's normal?
Go into settings on them in the Home app. Under the line that gives their location, there is now an “Accessories” line - tap on that, and it’ll list the temperature and humidity sensors. They’ll likely say “calibrating”. Not clear how long calibration takes.

FWIW, if I ask Siri what the temperature is in the other room, I get “I’m still getting that set up - please try again in a few minutes.”

A tone to indicate a request has been carried out is a new feature in 16.3, which is what the person you replied to was talking about.
