Homepod: ……..
Homepod: ……..
Me: Echo, turn the lights off.
Echo: *turns lights off instantly*
HomePod: “this is taking a little longer than expected”
HomePod: “sorry, I’m having trouble connecting right now”
Me: “Siri, don’t worry. The Echo has already done it.”
Hopefully this actually fixes Siri but I have very low expectations.

I wonder why there's no update for the Apple TV ? I always want my Apple TV to be my hub so it makes me nervous to update the HomePods without it.
So glad to hear of everyone’s problems with downloading and installing it. Mine couldn’t even be bothered to be aware of its existence in order to download it or install it. Keep refreshing it, keeps telling me that I’m on an up to date firmware. So I guess I’m stuck on useless 17.1

Today's update comes a couple of weeks after the release of the HomePod 17.1 update, which added Enhance Dialogue for the original HomePod and the HomePod mini.
HomePod software is installed automatically on the HomePod unless the feature is disabled, but the HomePod can also be manually updated in the Home app by following the instructions in our HomePod update how to.

Has anyone experience problems with volume on HomePods since this release? I usually turn the volume to 50% but now I have to put it at 100% for a normal volume.

Just tested my original pair and don't seem to have the problem either. Don't forget to also check on the Apple Support Communities forums. Good luck.
