Apple today issued a number of minor updates for its iLife '09 and iWork '09 application suites.

- iWork 9.0.1 weighs in at 42.75 MB and is recommended for all iWork '09 users.

- iLife Support 9.0.2 "improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues." The 3.97 MB download is recommended for all Aperture, iLife 09, and iWork 09 users.

- iPhoto 8.0.2 weighs in at 87.86 MB and "improves overall stability and addresses minor issues in a number of areas, including Faces, Places, photo sharing, and slideshows."

- iMovie 8.0.1 weighs in at 24.53 MB and addresses several unspecified stability and usability issues.

Yay, this fixed some annoying problems I was having. I can now remove keyword shortcuts. When hovering the pointer over a person in faces the pictures seem to be in order now, although the order is still incorrect in events.

Edit: They finally made a way to manage locations without having to choose "new place" (which has been renamed to "find on map"). The location manage is under "window", "manage my places".

Edit 2: The name bubbles now have the arrow off-center if the face is near the edge of the photo. Previously it would point beside the person.

Update eh?

So. Looks like Apple has some new updates today for iLife and iWork 09. Once upon a time I was an update freak. Couldn't update fast enough. But now I have grown much older and wiser. Apple updates usually have a negative impact on me as a Tiger user. After updating, things that once worked fine, no longer work correctly. Apple updates don't seem to be "stability" improvements anymore. The updates usually have something to do with integration of something else Apple product related that I don't own or have any interest in using. I'm not gonna update my iLife or iWork 09 this time around. I'm going to go with the ol'e "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thing... This way things will still work and I don't have to buy a bunch of other Apple monopolized products. If I was Apple I would concentrate on quality not on how to make everything smaller. But than again I could careless about all the kids that want micro sized everything.

I think this is a achang but now instead of saying "Unknown"on a face it says "unnamed".

EDIT: Now when you name a "unnamed" person and you start typing a name it drags in possibilities from Address Book.

EDIT 2X: WTF you cant view Faces on Facebook albums??

That's what I thought when I switched to Mac, but it is just a lie. On a positive note you don't have annoying bubbles popping up all the time telling you to restart.

...
hehe, on a negative note, you're inundated with annoying "attach the power cable! attach the power cable!" before/during the update :p

I still have the weird up and down arrows when setting up a slideshow in iPhoto.

Very minor, but there on two computers. :)

I still can't draw a line from Sydney to L.A. across the pacific, it seems no planes travel east...

I've reported this bug so many times and still nothing. I can't make one of these new fangled travel books until it's fixed.

Updating right now..
Even apple`s update page is very generic about this set of updates... maybe that`s why it`s a page 2 rumor

I know this is off-topic for this thread, but THAT DRIVES ME NUTS!

At my workplace we run XP and the security updates are pushed to us. I get a little bubble that pops up and says "A security update will be automatically installed in 23 hours and 59 minutes." Uh, ok.... I click it and it goes away, and I get back to working until.... POP! "A security update will be automatically installed in 23 hours and 58 minutes." Yaargh!

Back on topic: I do find it a bit comical when Apple pushes multi-megabyte updates (sometimes quite large) with only "minor bug fixes and improvements".

I bet you've used the terminal command to set double arrows to both ends, right? Change it in Appearance and it should go away.

hmm, i only changed the top and bottom arrows in Appearance, never through Terminal. I used Terminal once when I first got my Mac, screwed up, and haven't really used it since. :) When I set the arrows to bottom only, it works fine. This only occurs when I use top and bottom.
